It's not really about the Let's Player specifically, in my opinion. I'm not subscribed to Markiplier just because I rarely subscribe to let's players but animations like these highlight genuinely funny moments and have visibly a lot of efforts put into them.
It's the same reason I don't follow Game Grumps but I love people who animate the best snippets.

We get it, you defend big LP'ers.
I couldn't tell this was from somebody's let's play and I don't know who Markiplier is either. This sounded like a radio show at first. Had to do some research to find out this is "PewDiePie with glasses."
The video itself was funny.
