That's it i'm never buying a console again.
I love the typing wheel.
This seems really cool, if it ever comes out.
Came into this thread expecting a gabe newell conspiracy blurb. Was pleasantly surprised.
That looks like the best first person browser in a while, definitely checking this out.
This seems really cool, if it ever comes out.
Public beta starts today, so I'm none too worried about that.
Time to get a wireless HDMI thingy.
Also, 0:46 Heavy weapons guy in the middle frame

I have the DiNovo Mini that I would use for an HTPC. But then I realized that I rarely played with friends or used the downstairs TV. I guess this will be cool on the rare occasions that I hook up a laptop to a TV for stuff. This kinda makes me wanna move into my own apartment so I can have an excuse to build a new HTPC and buy a TV. I hope there's a "Start Steam In Big Picture Mode" option. If they add a media browser then it can be your all in one solution.
Get left 4 dead 2 in split screen without the hassle of fixing a couple lines of code and I'd definitely try this out with friends and family.
I could play Sven coop on my tv? OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGOD YES
I can see Steam becoming a central media hub if they expand to include Steam applications, such as a media player.
Big Picture's browser seems infinitely better than the hunk of shit that is the steam overlay browser. I hope they get around to improving the overlay browser some time.
this looks FUCKING AWESOMEEEE I WANT IT PLEASE MOM
I am a little confused here, is this a console, or do you connect your computer to the TV somehow with it...?
I am a little confused here, is this a console, or do you connect your computer to the TV somehow with it...?
It's just a different UI for Steam, nothing confusing about it. You click a button in Steam and it switches to this full screen UI. It's mostly meant for people that want to play their games on a TV.
-Plug pc into tv. -Press big picture button on steam. -Browse, Play etc.
So do I somehow link it to my TV and I can play games on it or what?
Hook up your computer to a tv and click big picture.
So do I somehow link it to my TV and I can play games on it or what?
It's a big theme for Steam that is optimised for controllers. It is that simple.
Valve are not making a console damnit.
thats a weird looking half life 3 trailer
This interface seems AMAZING, and I would love to play it, but I simply can't give up my keyboard and mouse. I know I can still use it, but I personally wouldn't with this interface.
And that was the day Xbox and Playstation went out of business.
