Winter is cold, so here is a warm song for you all.

There is beauty in all languages.
That's insane!
So here's my question: Did they have Idina Menzel sing that in all of the different languages, or did Disney literally find a singer in each individual language that could match her tone for tone, pitch for pitch?
The amount of work that must have gone into the translations is insane, considering they also had to lip-sync everything as well.
This is pretty cool, I really liked the movie as well
Wow. One of my thoughts when leaving the theater was whether this movie would be fully dubbed worldwide. I doubted it was.
BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG.
Not a finnish verse here?
4/10, ihan paska

korean was done by the singer hyorin from sistar afaik.
That's some pretty good localization.
Swedish is the best part
even when I can't understand what the fuck she's saying that last smoulder at the end is still hot
Now if only I could sing like this in real life.
Jesus christ, what a song...
It gives me... chills.

Seriously though, I hear this movie is being made into a Broadway musical, and you can't convince me they weren't going that direction from the start.
Tell me you don't see her raising the ice-palace on those crystal-stilts towards the middle and instantly imagine an elaborate hydraulic platform rising over a grand stage. It just lends itself perfectly.
I haven't seen this movie yet but I like the stuff Disney makes. Is this one really that good?

like literally every movie gets a dub idk why you'd think this one wouldn't get one

It's a "subtler" sort of great, but great all the same.
A script so tight that not a single line of the first act is by accident.
Cleverly woven to keep the audience guessing, but decidedly entertained, while under the guise of a very traditional-seeming Disney fairytale.
But what really makes it great in the end is how it handles its resolution. The best I can say without spoiling it is that it presents an obvious cliche, and then peppers the story with tantalizing red herrings until at last all is made clear, and the story boots you in the teeth with what it TRULY values over everything else.
It's shatteringly different in this respect from every damn Disney movie that ever featured a princess as its central character/s. And I'm not just talking about different from, say, Snow White or Cinderella. I'm talking about different even from its closest progenitor: Tangled.
In the end it really is very simple. When you describe it, it doesn't sound that spectacular. And yet somehow it truly is damn near revolutionary for this kind of Disney movie.
Anyone found if you can get the whole song done by each singer? It'd be nice to get the whole song in each language too

That woman is talented.

Lip sync everything?
So that each language would line up more-or-less with the English language mouth movements. I assume if they do it it's never perfect but they try when possible.
[editline]29th January 2014[/editline]
To be fair though it may be mostly coincidental since the notes are meant to line up regardless of language, more so than the actual words themselves.
Now this song is gonna be stuck in my head all day, and I won't even be able to understand 95% of it.
Meh, pretty standard song
but the different languages in the same tone was cool
that last few seconds is really familar
is there another disney/pixar film that has a shot that is identical to that one (with the face and mouth movement and "spin around")

Dutch and German were done by Willemijn Verkaik who coincidentally enough also played Elphaba in Wicked in the Broadway, West End, and German & Dutch productions like Idina Menzel who was Elphaba in the Broadway and West End productions.

Hungarian is close enough.
sorry >:D
Frozen really surprised me with how damn enjoyable and memorable it was. And this song is incredibly beautiful.

Boy, there are some noticeably ugly languages in there.
Gosh dang is German an ugly language. That girl was trying her damndest too.
I'm saying it's a meh song because it really hasn't gone past the formula of past great disney songs.
and I think we can all agree the man-power going into the illustrations give it a bit more organic feel.
At least, that might be my own opinion and just general bitterness towards the 3D or anything new for that matter.

IMO colors of the wind is the most beautiful disney song
the message is pretty damn powerful too for kids

Well to be honest she was a Dutchie singing in German. They can't speak or sing in German that great. Also don't go insulting others languages.
