• Bongs and Grow Books Banned in Canada
All bongs, pipes and vaporizers have been banned in Canada by the Conservative government. Selling these items is punishable with jail terms and some of the highest fines in the Criminal Code. Books that describe how to grow marijuana are also banned, as is any other written or video material used to “promote, encourage or advocate, the production, preparation or consumption of illicit drugs.” The law, section 462.2 of the Criminal Code, is so broad that even promoting any “literature or instruments for illicit drug use” can get you 6 months in prison and a $100,000 fine for the first offence, and a year behind bars plus a $300,000 fine for the second offence. Bookstores like Chapters and Amazon fall under the law, since they sell many pro-marijuana books and videos. But police raids have only focused on cannabis culture oriented shops. I like how using a bong implies that you're a pot smoker
oh god what the fuck is Canada doing first fucking up Science and now this bullshit
I like how using a bong implies that you're a pot smoker
Seeing as that's what everyone I know uses it for. Honestly there is no reason to smoke anything else out of it. Sure you could smoke tobacco out of one, that way you can get such a nicotine buzz that you throw up.
oh god what the fuck is Canada doing first fucking up Science and now this bullshit
It's slowly becoming America :tinfoil:
now that bongs are illegal nobody will smoke marijuana! and how can they grow the plant if they can't learn how to through books, genius!
why is Canada being so fucking backwards lately?
why is Canada being so fucking backwards lately?
Conservatives.
Time to start stockpiling and keeping your semi-broken bongs. Fuck. Edited: BongMan
Good work Canada!
Conservatives.
[thumb]http://canindia.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/18/Nude_HARPER1111-1024x686.jpg[/thumb] Edited: My merge! ;-;
The banning of any literature on the subject doesn't seem cool at all.
I'm pretty sure bongs are illegal in America too, and that's why you ask for a "water pipe" instead at headshops
It's obviously just a technicality bullshit type of thing. Bongs aren't banned.
What the fuck, Canada?
Fuck you Harper, fuck you.
It's slowly becoming America :tinfoil:
lol because books about weed are banned in america
It's slowly becoming America :tinfoil:
It's worse than America, since the US recently legalized weed in a few states
What are they gonna do with the books, burn them?
Even though I don't smoke marijuana my only reaction to this is "what the fuck?" The Conservatives have been more of a pain in the ass than usual lately and that's saying something. Edit: Ah, an old law. Nonetheless, with all of the shit the Conservatives have been pulling we really need to get Harper out of office.
Edit: I didn't realize the law was 25 years old. Downtown Toronto you would hardly notice that the law is in effect; you can pretty much find a shop to sell a pipe or bong on every street. In that case I guess my comment below still stands: "NO ONE benefits from this law, save for a government that wants to Americanize this country in all of the worst possible ways. Fuck the conservatives." But now I guess the question is, why is it even still in effect? Has no one sought to challenge it?
I like how using a bong implies that you're a pot smoker
What else are you supposed to use it for? Incense?
They'll just start selling them as 'alcohol pourers' like here in Australia.
Stay classy, Canada
-snip, apparently this is an old law-
Ugh, thanks Obama.
how'd harper get into office twice in a row
Yeah seriously how could you great Canadian guys let this happen
What else are you supposed to use it for? Incense?
tobacco?
Surprised about this harsh law? Don’t be, it’s 25 years old – enacted back in 1988 by the Conservative government of Brian Mulroney.
oh look.
tobacco?
im pretty sure anybody who buys a bong has the intention of just smoking tobacco
