So I'm going to be writing a mobile client for Facepunch in the coming months. I'll be interviewing garry to find out what he wants from it, however getting your suggestions/ideas is also important too. Here's what I have planned support for:

View forums, threads and posts

Create and reply to threads

PM system support, view and reply to PMs

Favourites, mark certain forums as favourites to put them to the top of your list (may implement this for threads too, a kind of personal sticky)

Ratings support, view and give ratings

Event Log support

Ticker support
Possible features, looking into these now:

Push notifications for PMs and thread subscriptions
If you have anything you think I'm missing that you'd want from the app, tell me and I'll see if we can add it onto the plan. Best if you get the suggestions in early so I can build them into my initial UI designs.
There will be two versions of the application, one free, and one paid.
Conveniently this can also form my A2 Computing coursework, and so that provides it's own deadlines/timetable I'll be working to. This incorperates a period of time for large scale testing, of which I'll be taking applications for beta testers (who will receive a free copy of the premium version as a thank you), more information about that closer to the time.
PM ME ABOUT BETAS AND YOU'LL BE BLACKLISTED FROM ANY BETAS OK? Getting sick of all the PMs about it.
I'll keep this thread updated with progress and post parts of the app to get your opinions on how they could be more user friendly.
So, your ideas and suggestions please?
I already have it, it's called "Browser" on my phone.
I have opera mini, enough for me.
If you do though, make sure there's a qvga version too. My poor phone lost 50% of the apps available

Facepunch wasn't designed for small resolutions/screens. A custom-designed application fixes this. Nobody will be forcing you to use it.
Sounds great. Now I need Android phone.

It looks just fine.
The facepunch side API that powers this will be open to everyone (sort of)
Multitasking. I have also found on many other applications for websites that they don't have a "Remember me" button so you don't have to keep logging in, not sure if it is possible, but it would be useful.
Raise the price to 2 dollars. Splurge a little. Hell I'd pay 2 bucks for it.

We'll support multitasking from the start, it'll suspend/resume just like all your other apps on your phone. The default behaviour will be to remember the account you're logged in as.

May reevaluate this closer to release, we'll see. I need to study the price points Apple lets us pick, and decide whether to release free or paid first.
If you need a hand with the Android app, I've had a little experience programming with it (Actually in the middle of an MSN client)
That said, I think you've got everything you'd need in the app covered
You probably have one already but I tried making an icon for you.

Excellent point, it'd be good if people posted what they think the icons/art should look like.
Post your icons in 512x512 resolution, and have a PSD ready incase I decide to use yours. If you can include a splash screen (these are used while the app is loading), in 960x640, this will also be useful, again keep the PSD to hand.
Finally someone is doing this. Now people can shut up when asking for it.
Hexxeh you so clever :3:
Looking forward to this. My suggestion would be to include the ability to use the read threads service.
qvga though right
Awesome, make sure to have some smilie list and panorama mode, other then that you should have everything. Also, dont mess up the icon. please.

Panorama mode?
Ignore list functionality.
Panorama mode?
I think he means landscape (vs Portrait)
Panorama mode?
You know, putting your phone horizontal, at least on the iPhone its called Panorama mode.
[editline]06:16PM[/editline]
Oh yeah, it was landscape :downs:
Oh yeah, landscape is a given.
I think i'll buy an iPhone or Android just for this :v:

:geno:
I tried to make a Splash Screen, it's still a work in progress but ideas would be nice.

Quick question, lets get some opinions together: is there a demand for this to be a universal app and so for it to work on iPad, too? I find Facepunch works very well on iPad because it's so much higher-res, but an iPad version could look very slick.
Three options, don't do this, do this for the first version, or do this later.
I need to decide now because I'll need to factor it into my plans.
the fonts don't fit and it doesn't look modern enough
Just a note about the icons too, don't add the "shine" curve, these are added automatically by the App Store and I'll add it myself for the Android one.

90% of facepunchers were raised to not be allowed their own opinion thus 90% of facepunchers hate ipad
