pretty impressive, though the movie itself looks like utter crap
did I spot king tigers in stalingrad?
feels like too much is CG
pretty cool video though

where?
Visual effects look pretty good, seems a bit too Micheal Bay to me though.
I want to see this, just for the visuals because they look stunning.
I think I remember seeing a trailer for this a while ago, and it just looked like a bunch of Soviet glorification and hating on the FACIST ANCESTOR KEELERS. Is that all it turned out to be or was it any good?

well it's a war love story...
I don't think it's possible for it not to be romanticized, glorified crap.
And this video you can notice some things, like CGI explosion dust plumes go through walls
When Americans make a film about Stalingrad, it's Hollywood bullshit with a tacked on love story and horrible treatment of history.
When Russians make a film about Stalingrad, it's more or less the same thing.
When Germans make a film about Stalingrad, it's horrifyingly bleak and depressing.
Huh.

The entire 6th Army was wiped out by brutal fighting and cold

At least when America tries they don't boast about it being historically authentic.
The german version was fucking emotionally exhausting to watch, even if it was really good.
I want the next leap in CGI to occur
For me at least, we're thoroughly in the uncanny valley, where (for example) the burning plane falling past the window in this film looks close to a real plane, but still looks like CGI.
Kinda like the entire avengers film
all that looks unbelievably good. literally. it's so pretty and perfect - the colors, the scenery, the shader effects such as bloom, every moving bit and piece - that none of it really feels real. in a way that takes away some of the grittiness i'd expect from a war movie
this must've taken AGES to make
I still prefer the 1993 german version.

It's probably just me, but unless it's blatantly obviously bad CGI it doesn't bother me.
