Three people inside the helicopter and five people inside The Clutha were killed after the Police Scotland aircraft came down at 22:30 on Friday. A further 14 people are being treated for "very serious injuries" in hospitals across the city. A major investigation is under way and the Air Accidents Investigations Branch will conduct an inquiry into the crash. Dr Jennifer Armstrong, medical director at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said that of the 32 people taken to local hospitals after the crash, 18 had now been treated and discharged. She confirmed that 14 people were still being treated for serious injuries. "The main injuries we have seen include chest injuries, head injuries, long-bone fractures and lacerations," she said. ... It has been reported that about 120 people were in the pub at the time of the crash. Many were rescued or escaped but others were trapped by a collapse on the left-hand side of the building. I assume this was traffic cone related.
That's going to cause some damage. Friday night, the pub will have been packed.
Typical Glaswegians. This sort of thing doesn't happen in Edinburgh I can tell you that.
Looks like it was a police helicopter as well: So now I really wonder what happened...
Police popped in for a pint it seems.
Talk about gate crashing..
"Lets get a closer look at that pub" "If you say so"
If only they invented xray cameras the police wouldn't have to do this
Pub stomping at its finest.
Yeah, just read about this, apparently like 200 people are injured. I wanna know what went on inside the helicopter.
A police officer, a donut, and a helicopter walks into a bar..
My mind went to Final Destination
the pilot's going to have one hell of a hangover in the morning [editline]a[/editline] unless he's dead
sometime when i get i hangover i wish i was dead
By the sounds of it there are no casualties but they're currently trying to get the officers out the wreckage. It's been confirmed to be a police helicopter. I went down to the scene and there were loads of ambulances but none had lights flashing and none were leaving so as of half an hour ago, no obvious casualties. [editline]30th November 2013[/editline] There were only about 120 people actually in the pub. [editline]30th November 2013[/editline] Police aren't in a position to confirm details on any injuries.
As he left the Accident and Emergency Department of Glasgow Royal Infirmary, a member of staff who did not want to be interviewed was asked how serious the injuries were. He replied with one word: "Very".
Nightmare situation, really hope as many people as possible made it out alright
Of all things in Scotland that you can crash a helicopter into, it HAS to be a pub.
Damn that's so surreal. I normally pass that pub on my way to work, so crazy for something like this to happen. [editline]30th November 2013[/editline]
Of all things in Ireland that you can crash a helicopter into, it HAS to be a pub.
Scotland.

Happy Saint Andrews day.
Stunning revelation in this eyewitness testimony
I was in my bedroom playing some X-box, just relaxing and then I heard the sound. I really don't know how I would describe it. It was like a helicopter falling out of the sky, basically.
Engine failure maybe? Its rare for a heli to just drop out of the sky.
Stunning revelation in this eyewitness testimony
I doubt it sounded like that at all, it's just someone lying to get on the news
Engine failure maybe? Its rare for a heli to just drop out of the sky.
there was an eyewitness account mentioning flames coming out the engine as it was falling, so sounds like a possibility, but then again the EC 135 that they use is twin engine, so perhaps something more severe

One confirmed dead, people on Facebook saying it's 3 but I've got no source for that. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-25165894 My mates were just down the road and saw the whole thing, pub was also filled with a bunch of my mate's uni friends. They're not all accounted for. Bad shit lads. That said, it brings a little bit of pride to me to read on the BBC page about the amount of folk jumping into the pub to help people out. Fucking love Glasgow.
I doubt it sounded like that at all, it's just someone lying to get on the news
I know you said this 8 hours ago, but more eyewitness "reports" came out since. Many people seem to say the same thing, it just dropped. So if that is true it does sound like an engine failure. Wouldn't want to speculate though, there are experts for that sort of thing.
