(Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court ruled on Friday that a lower court should reconsider a sales ban against Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 won by Apple in a patent dispute with the South Korean electronics maker. The injunction was put in place ahead of a month-long trial that pitted iPhone maker Apple Inc against Samsung Electronics Co Ltd in a closely watched legal battle that ended with a resounding victory for Apple last month on many of its patent violation claims. However, the jury found that Samsung had not violated the patent that was the basis for the tablet injunction and Samsung argued the sales ban should be lifted. U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said she could not act because Samsung had already appealed. In its ruling on Friday, the Federal U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Washington said Koh could now consider the issue. The decision comes just a month before the South Korean corporation is expected to unveil the second generation of one of its most successful devices, the stylus-equipped Note. The Galaxy 10.1 is an older model, but the ban still hurts Samsung in the run-up to the pivotal holiday shopping season. The world's top two smartphone makers are locked in patent disputes in 10 countries as they vie to dominate the lucrative market, which is growing rapidly. A U.S. jury found during the just-concluded trial that Samsung had copied critical features of the iPhone and iPad and awarded Apple $1.05 billion in damages.

does this mean apple goes out of business/
Not even close.
does this mean apple goes out of business/
as if people wanna buy Samsung tablets...
as if people wanna buy Samsung tablets...
So your definition of people are Apple cultists?? Nice to know there 'bub.
as if people wanna buy Samsung tablets...
Fuck right off to some Apple fanboy site where you belong. Stop shitting in every thread regarding Android/Samsung/Apple.
as if people wanna buy Samsung tablets...
I'd rather have something like an iPad for $200 than a real, worse iPad for $800.
I have yet to understand the tablet craze.
I have yet to understand the tablet craze.
They are luxury items. Unless you're in some niche field, they have yet to really prove their value in the business-space but they're great for trips and just general entertainment. Watching movies, playing some CASUAL games, browse the web.
I have yet to understand the tablet craze.
The only one's I'm interested in is the Nexus 7, due to it's size and price/performance ratio, The Asus transformer lineup with keyboard dock included, or the new Asus Padfone 2 with tablet & keyboard dock. Otherwise they can all bugger right off.
I have yet to understand the tablet craze.
I always thought they were neat and fun, but I never could justify getting one myself... I then got a... whatever it is called, "The New iPad" and it was nice at first, it definitely came in handy and was nice to have around. After a month or so it had become nothing more than a, okay I can browse the internet in bed before going to sleep more easily, or I'm eating dinner let me pull out the iPad and check on some things. It replaces a laptop in many convenient applications, would I recommend buying one? Depends. If you go for the iPad you are going to be paying a shit ton of money for something that isn't worth a shit ton of money. If you go for an android tablet you could pay $100-199 for a tablet and get about that much use out of it. $200 doesn't break the bank and you will get at least $200 worth of use out of it.
I have yet to understand the tablet craze.
In my opinion they will EVENTUALLY replace laptops due to them being lighter and more portable. Though current tablets are pointless because laptops are so much more powerful.

If I'm honest, my dad got an iPad because he needed it for work but it's been really popular in the house, we subscribed to our local newspaper using it and in the mornings there is a race to get it first to read the news, everybody including my mum who isn't very handy with tech uses it to browse the web, and look up actors in IMDB when we watch films it's used an incredible amount compared to what I thought it would be used like, and it's only the first generation iPad :v: I'd really like an android tablet or something, I'd love a nexus 7 for the reasons above such as random web browsing and the odd game, or video streaming
tablets are just bigger, more useless, smartphones.
I have a high end laptop that I never really intended to move anywhere except between home and school. I use my tablet for taking notes, reading book pdfs, viewing school course documents instead of trotting over to the library to print them out, and getting sheet music from IMSLP.
