Recently found this guy's channel, thought I'd share. I have fond memories of this game, cool to see that there's a nice restoration mod.
I really felt giddy too when he mentioned the experience of making bread for the first time, that sense of wonder and amazement in games is something I always loved feeling. The magic system really was a lot of fun too. The concept of those [sp]cyberpunk eskimos[/sp] really looked cool as well, real shame it never had a follow up. Would be nice if Arkane or even another dev would take a shot at making a spiritual successor. Also noticed Raphael himself commented on the video, and looking at their account it had launch party videos and stuff at Arkane so it looks legit. [t]https://i.imgur.com/QPO8F6t.png[/t]
This channel's great, I love finding these smaller critique channels and this guy's videos are top-notch. Thanks for sharing it.
I bought Arx Fatalis many years ago when I was using a laptop. The casting system does not translate well to a trackpad. I never got past the tutorial because of how hard it was to control. I think I'll give it another shot now.
Arx fatalis was released the year Morrowind was btw If we're looking at it in era relative terms the only game with a combat system as fleshed out Arx was in its time would maybe be what Dark Souls is today. That isnt a comparison, no. Arx is hard to truly master but still reletively easy enough to get the hang of. Its pretty comprehensive and fun to play.
