Hello Facepunch.
2 weeks ago I adopted a 10 week old kitten which we name Izzabelle. Izzy is the cutest little tabby cat I've ever seen. She was the smallest of all her brothers and sisters and can fit inside my second 5 year old cat 3 times over (5yrold cat's name is Coco and is perfectly fit size wise).
Izzy was always purring when you rubbed her and meading whatever surface she was on with her claws. Her heart would always race when we picked her up to bring her into a new room to acclimate her with her new enviroment but we never thought anything of it. Today we had to bring her to get a checkup at the vet, and it turns out she has a level 4-5 murmur on a scale 1-6. The vet said she could go into cardiac arrest at any time and will die soon. We can either keep her until she passes, or give her back to the humane society of which we adopted her.
I'll see if I can get a picture of her soon. :frown: She is a beautiful, loving, playful kitten and always licked my fingers for some reason. Izzy.
put it out its misery
Kick it against a fence?
Sorry :(

Give it a chance, it deserves at least that.
My dog has a heart murmur but it's fine.
Edit: We gave our epileptic cat a chance until it got too bad and we then had to put her down today.
Man that's a difficult choice.
Couldn't you like sedate it or something so it doesn't feel anything :(
Alert the local Oriental Buffet
I've only had 2 pets, Coco and her, and Coco is perfect health wise so I guess I'm just rather scared. And Simples, what level murmur? I mean 4-5 out of 6 is high especially for a little kitten so young.

Did you know:
The medic's favorite food is cardiac arrest flavoured kitten with schnitzels
Don't put it to sleep, keep it, sometimes the vets are quacks.

oh my god i just noticed the pun, i seriously didn't mean to.
Get it put down. Put the cat out of it's misery, christ.
:ohdear: Izzy, promise me you live longer for OP.
If it goes bad take it out somewhere secluded and shoot it through the head.
Or just have the vet do it and cost you 20$
a bullet costs less than that though.
We had to do that for my grandma's dog that had a bunch of tumors.
What's with all these threads on death and cats?
5yrold cat's name is Coco
Copycat!
No pun intended, I had a 2 month old cat that died. My current one is called Coco too.
I have a heart murmur, and I'm still alive. Maybe your cat will be fine, too.

Cats are awesome. That's all there is to it.

I'm pretty sure that dogs get tumors naturally. I know a 15 year old dog that has multiple tumors but is very active and healthy.

Yeah, you really know when to make jokes.
even in the internet we have to be serious at some point.
She is in her little teepee/bed at the moment. We're probably going to keep her unless the humane society says against doing so.
This thread is filled with bad jokes, really, really bad jokes.
Give it a chance at least, it's not like you'll have anything to regret if you give it a chance.
And thank you for the nice replies. I hope at one point those who made sick jokes think about it and regret it.
Make her a grand last meal with fish and whatnot

Not a bad idea, but there's no way to know when she's...going. :frown:
I love all these cat threads.
