[B]What is it?[/B]
Comic Con is an annual even held in San Diego where a bunch of geeks (Us) goes to look at and preview a bunch of geeky stuff. Generally pretty famous people attend, there's free promotional stuff from upcoming movies, games, and comics. There is also a sales floor, where people bring, and sell various collectibles. So far, various comic writers and artists are confirmed as guests, and more will be announced in the following weeks. This year, it's being held July 18th-21st.
Tickets are no longer bought on site, nor can next year be preordered on site.
Now, we can have a small Facepunch meet-up at some point during the weekend, so if you're attending, send me a PM, and I'll add you to the list. After all, theres nothing like being with a bunch of sweaty nerds among thousands of other sweaty nerds.

I need to get my hands on resale tickets. I waited too long and forgot there was a virtual line. I'll for sure be there though. I like the idea of an fp meetup.
I didn't plan this, but my parents and I were doing a trip around the West coast of the USA last year and we were at San Diego on the first day of comic-con. That was kinda jarring and difficult for me to explain to my parents (though it did explain why all hotels were booked)
But this year I'll be passing in the city again, so this should be fun. Maybe when I'm 21, I'll get myself entries and go with some friends.
If I ever had the time I would try to assemble gear to dress up as either Haggard or Sweetwater and try to get a Bad Company posse together.

'B' actors usually are. But sometimes you just run into people (Last year Tom Kenny, then the year before that Abed from Community, and Kevin Perira.) Just hang around hotels and you'll see tons of people.

half of their planned services didnt even work for me and my two buddies

There's a Comic Con happening in my city in Australia this weekend. Autographs from the more well known actors (Richard Dean Anderson, the first guy to play Capt. Kirk) are $80 each

me and my friends tried to get tickets, but even though we were on the page ready to go we still missed out. fuckin sucks, who knows when i will be in the US again!!

yeah registration sucked pretty hard this year, I only got in because I refreshed one of my tabs (which is exactly what they said not to do)
