there is so much detail in this game it feels like every little thing has been worked on so much its an amazing atmosphere to play
I am already really curious how GTA would look like on the new generation of consoles. I mean this might be one of the prettiest console games i have seen in terms of atmosphere and liveness.
The atmosphere and sound effects in this game are top notch.
I was climbing a construction tower for a parachute activity and it went from hearing construction workers working on the building, cars and pedestrians and as I got close to the top the construction was quieter, I could hear the wind howling and random cars honking their horn
The mountain views are really nice at night, you can see the lights of the city and traffic. It means a lot more when you realize that it's not a rendered scene or skybox too.
There's little things I know would be better with better hardware, such as when you're on a mountain and you zoom in with your scope, you can't see cars and people from very far away. But that's expected with only 512 MB of ram!

256 on the PS3.
Considering the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are using affordable hardware from 2005, it's incredible what Rockstar managed to do.

512 in total, split between GPU and CPU.

The daylight lighting looks so much better in this compared to GTA IV
512 in total, split between GPU and CPU.
So 256 MB of general use RAM and 256 of video ram, how am I wrong?
This is already the best looking game I've ever played, when it comes to PC the graphics will be mind blowing.
Fuck. I was working on one too.
WTF you guys kidding with the RAM. God dam I think I just had my mind blown.

Make something like this

How was this video even made?

Most likely using a capture card and a camera hack, the latter similar to ones used to make screenshots.
512 in total, split between GPU and CPU.
The 360 works similarly, but it isn't physically seperated
0:47 looked like real life.
Incredible.

Camera hack, eh? I'm interested in how that works now that it's not out for PC yet.

I'm guessing either the guy was a dev and has access to the camera tools, or he has a modded console and managed to enable it.

The only thing that bothers me is the way the clouds move. It looks so strange and like they were just textures plastered onto a spinning sphere. :v:
2:28 Probably one of the prettiest scenes in any video game ever
I was completely blown away by the attention to detail in this game, I'm glad they didn't rush to release it.
