so in summary Activision are being big whiny bitches because one of their biggest developers bosses essentially told them to fuck off which they then responded with firing them.
How much are these royalties, and how much do these people get paid?
I like how Activision fired the guys who wanted to make COD not fall any furthur into the shitter. Also, if I made a billion dollars for some company I too would inform them they should have intercourse with themselves if I felt like it. "Sorry I made you a billion dollars."

Activision are cunts, and i'm willing to believe that the reason MW2 sucked so bad was because of them. [editline]01:03AM[/editline] Grr fucking edit button, where art thou... They didn't want CoD to go modern, they thought it would ruin the series, the massive success of CoD4 is what caused them to "HOLY FUCK MILK THE SHIT OUT OF IT" IMO MW2 was rushed, and the extra 2-6wks that IW wanted could have saved it
I say fuck'em. Infinity ward can go and get published by someone cool like THQ or Steam, or even Bethesda. Any number of them would gladly jump on the opportunity.
IW probably demands buttloads of cash and Activision wants to keep those buttloads of cash. Two greedy men duke it out.
IW probably demands buttloads of cash and Activision wants to keep those buttloads of cash. Two greedy men duke it out.
God forbid you want to get paid for your work, right?
Sources tell Kotaku that Activision continues to delay royalties to other employees in order to keep them at the company. The morale at Infinity Ward is reportedly extremely low.
See, I told you Activision was an asshole and that what he (Kotick) had said a year or so ago wasn't all bullshit, he's actually doing it.
If Kotick (or whoever is in charge over there) has any sense, he pays them now. If he procrastinates, it'll end up with IW going to court over it and they'll not only have 0 chance of winning, but their reputation will be down the shitter too.
They're already going to court over it.
They are? Source? If so, Kotick is in some DEEP shit.
What happened to you, IW :(
IW probably demands buttloads of cash and Activision wants to keep those buttloads of cash. Two greedy men duke it out.
It's in their contract, they have all rights to demand their buttload of cash.
"we have made too much money again, time to fire somebody"
Why hasn't someone brutally assaulted Kotick yet?
I just hope this shit doesn't effect MW3. After that they can do whatever the fuck they want, but MW3 must be made and give me closure!
I say fuck'em. Infinity ward can go and get published by someone cool like THQ or Steam, or even Bethesda. Any number of them would gladly jump on the opportunity.
Uh no they can't, they're owned by Activision.
Uh no they can't, they're owned by Activision.
There's various loopholes in business that are designed for emergencies like this.
Uh no they can't, they're owned by Activision.
Could they not just all quit and form a new team/same people and get one of the other publishers?
Could they not just all quit and form a new team/same people and get one of the other publishers?
They could, but by the sound of things their employment contract means that they get paid royalties on a yearly basis (but only if they still work for IW). Imagine working for minimum wage as a video game developer for almost two years with the promise of massive royalties after release. That's the situation these guys are in. They're not going to quit until they get their money.
Just another victim of popularity and mainstream media. It is funny, people never learn despite what happens around them. You never know how good you got it till it is all taken away.
http://kotaku.com/5485703/ousted-infinity-ward-founders-lawsuit-against-activision-the-court-documents/gallery/
I hope they sue his intestines out.
Wasn't it the CEO of activision who said he wanted all of his employees to hate their job and he purposely went out of his way to make it so? Or was that some other company, I remember reading a FP article on it a bit ago.
That's ridiculous The best thing they can hope for is as much bad press as possible.

Kotick needs to fuck himself off to that cave where he came from.
Yeah, I bet my money that IW is just going to get up and leave after Royalty's are paid.
