We know the problems with Ubisoft and EA. But neither of them would have the audacity to fire their top developers, cancel entire top-grossing games series, and turn loved brands into pachinko machines.
Konami is far removed from anything the West has in terms of sub-par publishers.

EA, Activision, and Ubisoft all do terrible things but we can at least understand why they do them. Why do EA try to shove mobile game bullshit into everything? Because businessman at the top doesn't know games and wants more money. Why did Activision monitor the movement of Infinity Ward employees before most of the studio abandoned ship? Because they didn't want them getting headhunted. Why did Ubisoft push shitty DRM for SO LONG? Because they were afraid of losing money that wasn't theirs to begin with. All fucking awful things, but you can understand the evil if you look at it from businessman's perspective.

It seems like the best we can do is just move on and ignore Konami and its titles and just get the devs who made their old classics start anew with games in similar settings to Silent Hill and Castlevania and whatnot, and just hope one day that they'll be willing to part with the franchises.
Because as long as their machines attract the gamblers, there's no way they're going to go bankrupt for a long time.

Yeah, but by the way Konami is acting, it seems like there's no doubt it will still be legal. Konami may be satan himself when it comes to games, but as a business, they wouldn't put all their chips into something like this unless they were absolutely sure they were going to come out richer.

The problem really lies with people who know nothing or very little about the gaming industry have too big of a say in the gaming industry because they have the money, and the people who actually MAKE the game have to make sure they stay happy or there won't be a paycheck
You think Rembrandt would be as renown as he is if he got all his paint from someone, and that someone who's a banker told him how to use it and that it had to be used by such and such date because damned if the canvas is completely covered, that's when it needs to go out to make the return investment
I hope Del torra and hideo can make a new Silent Hill ganme but not call it Silent HIll
