TBH that looks like dead space.
That's a pretty damn good pre-order deal.
I thought it was Red Dead Redemption for the PC. :saddowns:
"Pre-Purchase Now: Red..."
Oh yeah i remeber seeing this.
Big ol' dead space rip off.
I don't know, Red Faction Guerrilla was fun for a bit but it ended up pretty gimmicky and thanks to P2P connections the multiplayer (which was actually pretty fun with a group like Facepunch) died insanely quickly. I won't be pre-ordering this one.
This doesn't look like Dead Space at all. Dead Space was a horror. This is an action game. It's not supposed to be scary. Instead of the aliens popping out at you you're going to be facing them in open battle.
The only similarity is aliens that look similar.

The trailers showed otherwise. But eh. Red Faction's always been about government corruption; changing it to martian aliens that look like absolute monsters fucking up everything is more Doom-y to me, and just seems.. Misplaced.
I thought this was going to be for Red Orchestra 2 when I saw from the main page :v:

I got all depressed when it was only another Red Faction game and not RDR.

Don't worry, it's gonna happen.
I'm starting to doubt it.
Makes you wonder. What ever happened to those "experiments" back in Red Faction 1?
Oh cool, I like what they've done with the banner, I might put a preorder in for this as well, let me just cli-

I love how people are stupidly saying it's a Dead Space rip-off when Dead Space itself is a blatant rip off of System Shock 2.
I like red faction guarilla and love to blow shit up. I wish I could make a skyscrapper with this nice physic engine and tear it to pieces to the point of collapsing.
I enjoyed guerrilla well enough, but the really just seemed afraid to let me enjoy my destruction. Everything I did got the military chasing me. Even if I was just driving around they would randomly decide it was time to kill me. Just Cause 2 had a similar problem. The game occasionally needs to leave you alone so you can play with the mechanics. Both games were still a lot of fun, I just got frustrated with them sometimes.
So now we have the next iteration of red faction and they seem to have abandoned the most amusing part of the previous one and gone underground. I worry that they have totally missed the point.
Ah well, I will wait for reviews. I'm not giving up quite yet.

Hah, and except for graphics, SS2 was better in every way.
When i saw "Pre-Purchase Now: Red..." I was hoping for Red Orchestra 2

The game is begging to have some fun cheat codes to mess around with.
I really want RF:G. :/

I made a trainer for RFG that let me play around, outdated now though.

Either way i heard this game (RF: Armageddon) is nothing like any RF game before it. It abandons a lot of source material and i didn't hear a thing about destruction last i looked.
Hope it won't suck but realistically, it most likely will.

what else would I do
Red faction > Red faction 2 > Red faction guerilla.
No idea where this will come into it.

That's odd. I could drive around and go on wrecking sprees without any single fuck being given unless I did it on some of their buildings. Obviously.
As far as I can gather from previews, there are still quite a few big structures in the game even if you are underground. Additionally, the destruction is supposedly less in focus and kind of just provides you with a gameworld where you fuck up the world just by fighting in it, rather than it being a core gameplay mechanic. Not sure if that's a good thing. I just hope buildings don't melt into the ground anymore.
Loved Guerrilla
Hope this one is just as awesome
