Los Angeles (CNN) -- A woman identified as a Saudi Arabian princess has been accused of holding a domestic servant against her will at her condominium in Irvine, California.
Meshael Alayban, 42, faces one felony count of human trafficking. Court details released Thursday say Alayban is one of the wives of Saudi Prince Abdulrahman bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz al Saud.
Alayban appeared in an Orange County court in Santa Ana on Thursday, and the judge continued the arraignment until July 29. In the courtroom, Alayban was kept inside a cage-like holding space and spoke with her attorney through the wire webbing.
Alayban is being held in the Orange County jail in lieu of $5 million bail. She faces a maximum sentence of 12 years if convicted.
Is slavery legal in Saudi Arabia?
Is slavery legal in Saudi Arabia?
From what I've read it was abolished in the 1960s but they don't do anything to fight against it.

Its cheap and pretty standard in America, though i don't know why they didn't bring her to a room to meet with him instead. Maybe they're trying to make a point.
Domestic slavery is actually a common thing. iirc, America is the number one importer of slaves and it's mostly for domestic purposes.

Alot of those states on the Arabian peninsula might as well be considered slave states with all of the debt bonded labourers who can't leave.

I'm not sure we are number one, but if not we are close.
The US has a huge human trafficking problem. People rating you dumb are simply poorly informed. It is a problem that somehow manages to consistently escape media attention.
