Well I'm quite interested in purchasing a replica weapon, it's a late 19th century single action revolver. I'm going to ask that you don't question my motives for purchasing one, and please don't turn this thread into "why the hell would you buy one?" or "this is a stupid idea, therefore I won't help you". I'm pretty set on buying one, and I'm just asking for help from people who may know what they're talking about.
Basically the site I'm looking at ships to the UK from France, and they claim all the replicas they sell are 100% legal all over the UK, but then they say to check local laws concerning the import of replicas, sort of contradictory but oh well. I live in London, and I have no idea of the laws concerning replica firearms, I think it's pretty much "they're legal but don't go waving it around in public, and don't come crying to us because a police officer shot you after you shot blanks at a crowd"
However I'm not 100% clear, and gun possesion laws are pretty serious, especially in London so I want to make sure I know It'll be okay to purchase one. I've searched google, but it either gives me airsoft posession laws, or speculation stories from years ago concerning the replica laws changing.
So, in summary, does anyone know if I'll get in any sort of trouble for having a replica weapon shipped to me, in London?
Thanks for any and all help.
Get it shipped in a month or something, because of the Cumbria shootings.
I wouldn't worry about the Cumbria shootings, theres no law saying you can't get one...
My local gun shop in Hastings had disarmed pistols for sale, so i would imagine its fine.

And i think it is illegal to have it shipped straight to you.
You will probably find you will have to have it sent to a local gun shop and collect it from there with ID, but that maybe just for actual live weapons.
