I'm really liking the look of it, if you want to learn more, check out http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crytivogames/the-universim
Wow. This looks pretty awesome, I don't know if it will get 320k though
Spooky yet cute.
I'm liking this.
The main guy making this is

I subscribed to him on youtube a while back, some of the stuff he does is amazing. So definitely keeping track of the game.
Seems like a cool movie trailer. I swear I've seen this sort of art style somewhere before.

Reminds me of Planetary Annihilation. Is that what you're thinking of? As to the OP, Thanks for linking this, this is pretty awesome.
amazing trailer.
That was awesome and a bit spooky as well.

Went into that youtube not knowing what to expect. The first video that comes up is him drawing a bikini girl licking an ice lolli. A true hero.
Is that the planetary annihilation engine? It honestly looks like it, not just because of the planet but the asthetic style looks the same as well.
Is that Jen Taylor?
Looks like Spore a little bit, I like it
I really want this to do well. It looks fantastic.
The trailer was really really well done, I'm curious though as what the gameplay will be like.

Looked it up and the voice over is done by Jodi Krangle.
That trailer took a really spooky turn at the end.
[sp]Definitely one of the better uses of bass I've seen in a video.[/sp]
wow that actually gave me chills, what the hell.
whoever made that trailer deserves a medal.
I wouldn't mind though if one of these kinds of games (which there seems to be quite a few these days) would actually try for a bit more realistic graphics and scale. Like it is supposedly a planet, and yet there is one ocean and like 20 trees. I know it is the style, but something like this but with the correct scale would be so awesome.
For years I have been waiting for a successor game to SimEarth. I thought Spore would be it but that game turned out a massive disappointment. But this looks like this might take on at least some of the ideas of SimEarth.

maybe not the correct scale..be a bitch to generate/render etc etc but i know what you mean.
the use of computer magic could easily pull it off but its always cartoony or super serious simulators.
never been a good mix of both ever
Doesn't mean there couldn't be one though.
Earth is my waifu

they made a nice looking engine so now they are making lots of kickstarters to get that ca$h
Wow! This looks so much like Imagine Earth - And that project has a demo ready - http://www.imagineearth.info/demo/ - An Indiegogo Campaign of Imagine Earth is still running - http://igg.me/at/imagineearth/ – Imagine Earth comes to Early Access on Steam this May and will be finished by the end of this year already!
It looks like a nice game based on the trailer. I wish they'd talk about gameplay more though.

I'm assuming it's a city builder with a story

there doesn't seem to be a formal story/campaign mode honestly.
This seriously might be the first Kickstarter I actually back.
