In death, they were united in tragedy. Shortly after Lance Corporal Liam Tasker was killed in a firefight with the Taliban, his devoted Army search dog Theo suffered a seizure and passed away too. On Tuesday they took part in a mission in the Nahr-e Saraj district in Helmand, a hotbed of the insurgency. Theo’s task was to be the ‘front man’, sniffing out any hidden IEDs, weapons and bomb-making equipment. But a firefight broke out with the Taliban and L/Cpl Tasker was shot dead. After his body was flown back to Camp Bastion, his beloved Theo is thought to have died of a broken heart.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1362275/Bomb-sniffing-Army-dog-dies-broken-heart-Taliban-kill-master.html :frown:
Great. Now I'm depressed for the rest of the week.
This is not news. EDIT: Okay let me explain this to you. This dog did not die of a broken heart.
:smith:
This is so sad, reminds me of the dog scene in I Am Legend, i cried so hard at that.
This is not news.
fuck off (User was banned for this post ("Flaming." - Seiteki))
I guess the good ol' saying, "a dog is a mans best friend" is true in some cases, like this one. This is really sad. It brings me back to when I had to put my dog down about a year ago; he had a seizure, and after that we knew it was time to put him to sleep.
I saw it as "Bomb-sniffing Army dog dies of..." in the header thing
I had to put my dog down about a year ago
I may have to do that with my Newfoundland soon. Arthritis.
Man that's really heartbreaking... I just noticed why I'm getting zing ratings. But I'm serious, that really is sad.
It died from the diesel exhaust fumes from the Abrams
That's so sad...
:smithicide:
Those who rate this story dumb are a Squidward:
reading this makes me want to cry :frown:
War is hell
Sensationalist bs, the dog just died coincidentally
I really think people under-estimate humanity's connection with animals. Dogs and cats (especially my cat Fuzzy) hold testament to that. I hope they're happy where ever it is we all go.
Wow, I'm fucking depressed now :sigh: also Tasker looks like Hezzy
also Tasker looks like Hezzy
Huh. I just noticed that.
There's a species of monkeys that if left alone to themselves for a long time simply die of loneliness, due to how strongly they bond with their owners, I'm not saying this dog died of a broken heart, but it could have been very shocked by the death of his close friend and master.
I like those rating dumbs. I'm sorry you've never had an animal devoted to you before. I know the feeling now when I returned home from Christmas break from College and my cat trouble was all over.
This is not news. EDIT: Okay let me explain this to you. This dog did not die of a broken heart.
But it's sad so people will rate you dumb and then make a generic Bawww comments like every time shit like this happens to animals.
They always say that a dog is a man's best friend. I guess it really is true :frown:
I like those rating dumbs. I'm sorry you've never had an animal devoted to you before. It's mushy sensationalism.
A fucking animal died, guys, get over it. It's not news. but leaf runner, its so cute, ur hartless!!11 It's one animal. Get real.
how to: make a hard hitting article Step 1: Find an animal that dies coincidentally after the death of its owner Step 2: Adhere to the idiots who think animals are people and say it died of a "broken heart" Step 3: Sit back and watch people get all worked up over how sad it is a dog died. (Also note: the human's death will not be mentioned because dogs > humans)
What a bitch, my dog has seizures all the time. Does that mean my dog might die too :(?
I would assume that people rated this article Dumb because the dog did not "die of a broken heart." It's mushy sensationalism.
You:"They must have hit the aorta." me: "Oh, do you think it was the Thoracic or Abdominal aorta?" If you get the joke, I give you props.

Get real.
I'll ensure to repeat those exact words with the word "animal" replaced by "human" on your funeral day, and see how others will react.
