Nintendo’s loyalty-rewards program rewarded members with a variety of items, such as downloadable games, Nintendo posters or character figures in exchange for Coins that members earned by registering products or completing surveys. Club Nintendo members in the United States and Canada can earn additional Coins through the end of March, and can redeem those Coins through the end of June. Nintendo of America will be announcing a new customer loyalty program at a later date. “We thank all Club Nintendo members for their dedication to Nintendo games and their ongoing love for our systems and characters,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We want to make this time of transition as easy as possible for our loyal Club Nintendo members, so we are going to add dozens of new rewards and downloadable games to help members clear out their Coin balances.” Nintendo will add a number of physical reward options for members in February. Members will also be able to choose from a lineup of many downloadable games. As a gift to Club Nintendo members, the Flipnote Studio 3D software will be available to download for free in February. This software will allow users to create unique three-dimensional animations and to exchange their creations via local wireless with others who also own Flipnote Studio 3D. Users who uploaded creations to Flipnote Hatena will be able to download their personal animations from the Nintendo DSi Library menu in Flipnote Studio 3D software. Flipnote Studio 3D will be available to Club Nintendo members until June 30. The ability to create a new Club Nintendo account will end on March 31. All users who register to Club Nintendo before registration closes will be eligible to receive Flipnote Studio 3D.
The writing was on the wall, I suppose.
that sucks. even if i didn't redeem them often, it was fun to collect the points. i have so many fuckin nintendo products and games
Did they say why they were doing this?
Last years platinum/gold rewards sucked balls in the United States. Hopefully I'll get something really awesome since this is the last year.
Goddamn, I still have coins.
They confirmed new prizes and motherfucking Flipnote Studio 3D (FINALLY) before it dies though, so I'm happy it at least dies nicely.
We don't even have Club Nintendo over here in the first place.
I didn't even knew Club Nintendo existed :(
my legacy shall live on
The only year throughout the entire existence of this that I didn't hit platinum was last year (due entirely to laziness; I had the surveys, I just didn't do them), but last year's prizes were the most pathetic of them all anyway. My only true regret was never saving up enough coins to get Game & Watch Ball; it was around for so long but I was so lazy. Here's hoping they go out with something PHYSICAL this time instead of another all-digital thing.
honestly club nintendo was dead in Australia since around 2010, I'm surprised they kept it going.
Wait a second...
Members who reach Elite Status will be able to choose a downloadable game from a wide selection of Nintendo 3DS and Wii U titles.
God dammit. No physical prize for this year's Platinum either. Here's hoping they pick some awesome games this time.
It feels like eras have been dying recently. I mean just think that only 3 years ago Nintendo Power's 24 year run ended. It feels like time is passing and while we see great beasts, even a beast succumbs to time's growth.
I hope Flipnote 3D won't cost anything. I've only got 70 coins.
It says free for Club Nintendo members, you should be fine
oh shit any product released after jan 20th can't be entered into club nintendo hard mode activated for the last platinum, this means i can't activate my New 3DS when it comes for a easy boost.
Goddamn, I still have coins.
You still got time to spend them. In fact, they just launched a lot of new rewards both in EU and US for your Stars/Coins. The Stars all expire on September 1st this year, and Coins by the end of June.
Well this is just bad timing for me. I literally just joined Club Nintendo after finally getting a 3ds like just a week ago.

Can anyone seem to log on to the UK Club Nintendo? Any login functions just seem to not work now.
While it has gone downhill, I'll still miss it. I really hope the new program has some physical merchandise to feed my need for Nintendo stuff on my bookshelf.
UK Club has fucking luigi and peach RELAXATION KITS and fucking DSi accessories. Such a piece of shit makes me wonder why they even bother.
Yeah, the UK one has always been really ass.

just to give an idea of how bad the selection is on the uk one, I have about 5 games worth of stars atm here is what I can get; ~wow~
Nintendo Points Card? I thought those got discontinued long ago.
Did they say why they were doing this?
Replaced by something else
Hopefully the new loyalty program is better. The best thing I got out of it was Donkey Kong Country Returns for the 3DS, and that was the free platinum game for the year. They just need a monthy free game like Xbox and PlayStation.
Awww, that's a pity, I liked to spend my stars on Wii points to get eShop stuff there. Oh, well...
They confirmed new prizes and motherfucking Flipnote Studio 3D (FINALLY) before it dies though, so I'm happy it at least dies nicely.
Oh, wow, really? I though it'd never come out in the west after what happened with Swapnote. Hope people from Europe get it too.
