This includes people who are constantly streaming high-definition videos or downloading tons of video games, notes BGR. McAdam addressed several issues that came up regarding net neutrality during a conference call discussing the recent stake of Vodafone in Verizon Wireless. Previously, Netflix accused Verizon of impeding streaming traffic, similar to what happened with Comcast. It turns out that this issue was because of peering congestion, which means that the middleman system Netflix uses to stream content to Verizon customers couldn’t handle the traffic that was flowing through it. While Verizon is expecting a deal from Netflix to stream content without interruption, McAdam expects that service providers and heavy broadband users should pay more money in order to keep the Web healthy.
How about Fuck You.
Yeah fuck you too I'd switch if you weren't my only choice.
verizon is an idiot like, they're the best option we have where we live but they suck. no unlimited, stupid CEO, bad everything. [editline]28th February 2014[/editline] like one of those dorks said "unlimited is stupid and will never work" lol
investment to keep the Web healthy
Yeah more like keeping his pockets healthy. Anyways don't users that use the internet a lot already pay more by buying a better dataplan? I'm not sure how you americans do it but I'm pretty sure you'd pay more if you want a higher cap/speed etc.
McAdam expects that service providers and heavy broadband users should pay more money in order to keep the Web healthy.
Sure, THAT'S what you want more money for
Yeah more like keeping his pockets healthy.
Dang it son
Verizon can fuck off.
Isn't that what data caps do already?
People pay for their bandwidth and data cap so they should be allowed to use that bandwidth and data cap how ever the hell they want.

Keep it up. You already pissed off Netflix, Google, and Microsoft. Now you want Valve and EA to hate your guts, huh?
I'm glad my parents have held onto our old Unlimited Verizion plan because of our shitty MiFi2200. Sure, the speeds suck. But it's the best we can do four our area and it's unlimited.
i think everyone should have to pay less for internet you greedy fucks
Way to go Verizon, pissing off the group of people that actually understand the Internet.
i can totally see the video game lobby(which keeps growing stronger) lobbying for laws against this.
Charge me more? Son, everyone is already paying too much for speeds that we aren't getting because of your hilarious excuse of a network. I do implore you to see what happens when you up-charge the price of your arguably largest consumer base without even improving your already terrible platform. I laugh at your ridiculous face.
Yeah fuck you too I'd switch if you weren't my only choice.
You don't want to pay more for internet access? You may as well switch to... oh right Verizon is your only choice, darn it *rubs nipples*
Verizon CEO can fuck right off.
Well now we know he didn't become CEO by being the "ideas guy"
he's still just an idea guy his idea is just MORE MONEY
aren't you guys getting google fiber in the us soon?
aren't you guys getting google fiber in the us soon?
Only in certain cities. It won't be literally everywhere. That won't be for a long time, if it does happen at all.
This is heresy at the highest degree.
And this is why I'm still on a plan from 2003.
Funny how things that were invented to change the world and be freely accessible fall into the hands of greedy assbags. Telephones were supposed to be free. Electricity was supposed to be free. And the internet was supposed to be free. Funny how things work out.
Fuck off, you already charge me 130$ a month for your shitty service. Might as well invest in a VPN Teksyndicate recommended one that oddly enough boosted their speeds at the cost of ping.
How about Fuck You.
That's what he's saying, to the customers. Bandwidth is Bandwidth Supply it or don't. Stop trying to control what people use it for. You already have monthly caps in place, so what's the problem? Oh, right. I forgot. This is the United States. You want more money
does he know video games only use a few hundred kilobytes per second, there is absolutely no reason why gaming is impacting their service and furthermore fast connections are often purchased by gamers already, and they tend to be early investors in higher speed connections
I like how these companies are moving in reverse. They go from unlimited data, to restricting you with data caps.
also you already make 98% profit on the internet since you rarely invest in infrastructure, how the fuck is this supposed to improve the bottom line
I'll love it in like ten/twenty or so years, a very large portion (if not majority) of adult Americans will have played (or are playing) video games. When that happens shit like this will get you labelled as the anti-christ.
