"how come he was yelling at his own wheels they cant even hear him"
Why didn't he just back the vehicle up as far as it could go, hit the gas and crank the wheel to the left? He has four-wheel drive.

Go figure that was how he eventually got out. He could clearly understand that he was able to go backwards with relative ease and if he went forward he'd just get stuck again and spin his tires so why didn't he just think to do that in the first place?

Anger tends to make people forget they can do things.

this crazy old man got realtalked by a small child
he made it yay
I like how at the end there's a choir of children cheering for him
it's like an unnecessarily long sketch from top gear
Oh my god Broken Bells is playing as soon as the video starts this pleases me greatly
It reminds so much of this one of a danish bloke, just less vehicle, and probably more drunk :v:

Maybe I'm wrong, but if he didn't rev it so much he would've got out much sooner
doesn't this absolutely destroy the profile on your tires?
This was painful to watch
From the thread title I was expecting someone to have fallen in snow and unable to get out and being all angry about it with failing arms and everything.
But still, I have a neighbour who does this, she lives on a small incline because of her driveway and whenever there is icy roads in London, she always struggled to get up her drive because she has the mentality of "If I go fast then I'll get up it". Me and my mum always watch from our window and treat it as a little show because she still hasn't learnt after all these years. Took her 30 minutes to get up her drive once because she was constantly trying to hit it with speed.
She's a bitch.

And the clutch. And the engine.
So much for an all wheel drive without a lockable differential I guess. And without basic winter driving skills.
I was waiting for him to either blow the motor from revving like an asshole or shred his tires :v:

While I was watching it all I kept thinking was "Dude, in all this time in frustration he could've just dug his car out"
Bonus: Seems like his phone falls out of his pocket when he gets out and screams "You've got to be fucking kidding me" at around 1:30
Do people in other countries do the thing where they put chains around their wheels? That's what we do when the snow comes around if we can't change to winter tires, or if winter tires aren't enough.

We do, but its normally with people who live in colder areas or are well prepared for the incoming white shitstorm.
How to drive like an idiot. Probably automatic too.
He could've just turned while backing up and come out of it backwards. Even if he's too close to the snowbank to turn much, the little bit of back and forth movement he had would have let him wiggle it out in pretty short order.
Driving in snow: Calm, slow as needed, and smooth. This man has none of those.

Maybe that'll motivate him to get winter tires :v:

Unless you're really up north or in the mountains in the US, its unlikely that its legal to put chains on as it destroys the road

I know it's illegal in Michigan, but even then, it's not really necessary. The only time I can think of it being necessary was last year.
That's $400 minimum for the new set of tires he'll need after that...

Even with proper lockers instead of the likely shifty LSD it wouldn't have made it with those tires. His best bet was to do exactly what he ended up doing. It's almost a fundamental rule in all off roading--which I suppose applies in situations such as this where it's your vehicle vs an obstacle. If you can't go forward than backup the way you came; it's generally easier, except in some mud. This jackass just needed to back up from the way he came in and take it at a less steep angle, which looked to be closer to asphalt anyways.
But, people like him get angry and lose their nerve. Then it puts themselves in danger, as you saw the guy in the video almost roll over himself during one of his fits of rage. Not to mention the safety for other drivers.
Such a nice vehicle to be bagging like that. Dude needs some lessons in getting unstuck.
Cameradude sounds high.
That's a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee and it's defeated by that little snow...
I used to have a 1988 Jeep Cherokee (not the Grand Cherokee, there's a huge difference) and whenever I got stuck in snow or ice, I just pulled the 4x4 lever and the rear differential would lock itself automatically. Why wouldn't a brand new Jeep have this function? My Jeep from the 80's was better in snow than this.

A tire's profile is the height from the rim edge. I think you mean the tire's track, the part that's in contact with the road.
And no, it won't get worn that badly when there's next to no friction.
