Welp 13 seconds was all I needed to see.
Looks kind of staged?
Looks kind of staged?
While it probably is, this isn't too far out of the realm of possibility of what happens at cons sometimes.
Looks kind of staged?
According to the uploader it wasn't. I believe it too - this shit happens far too often at cons.
I can at least see why people would find A LOT of various weird things arousing. To this day I'm still lost on what's so attractive about the 5N@F anamatronics.
According to the uploader it wasn't. There can be some really strange behaviours/actions that people do at cons.
My dad works for a hockey team in the entertainment department so me and my older sister got to dress up as giant foam fingers and walk around the concourse. There were a bunch of drunk fucks who sexually harassed the both of us (and it apparently happened to another girl in costume that I took on a date) so I don't dress up with full costumes anymore. Seriously its fucking creepy and you wanna just hit them for being so rude.

Looks more like a really bad joke
Something like this happened to me once at nekocon last year, I posted on CGL because I needed some tips on squeezing the budget. That was the worst fucking idea, at least 3 4channers came up within inches of me "I SAW YOUR POST ON CGL BUT I THINK YOUR COSTUME LOOKS NICE", hugged me for ????, and proceeded to be very stereotypical 4channers aka human skeletons or hamplanets.

This is apparently why there is no longer someone playing the role of Tarzan at the Disney parks anymore.
One of these days I'd like for someone to just compile a big 'ol collection of stories from cosplayers and themepark actors, sorted by character. It'd be undoubtedly be a good read and it would be morbidly interesting to find out which characters get the most awkward situations. I mean, I once read about a guy who went to cons as Pyramid Head. Some people would high-five him, some people would ask to pose suggestively with him, and some people would jump into his arms and ask to be raped.
Guys are talking like hugs are a bad thing
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you've never been to a con. People randomly hugging you when they look/act like total spergs/degenerates, haven't bathed for the entirety of the con, haven't washed their hands and they're all gross or just getting waaaaay to touchy feely in general is what people mean. Do you want to hug this?
I remember reading a cosplay story on Tumblr about this dude who dressed up as the angry troll from Homestuck, and several times while doing so other Homestuck fans would throw (metal?) buckets at his head because that's what happened in the comic.

Damn those places really bring out the weird ones.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you've never been to a con.
Only two times a year. Hugs are a necessary part of the conning experience.
Only two times a year. Hugs are a necessary part of the conning experience.
not when there's 20 gross kids walking around with "free hugs" signs I can live without, to say the least
Only two times a year. If they don't want to then don't do it. Didn't realize that was the point at hand.
Well yea, that can be applied to anything really. If they don't want to then don't do it.
I bet he frequents Facepunch.
Hey! Look I found him ma.

From what I understand a lot of cosplayers, male and female, get sexually harassed or just harassed in general at cons. It's one of the the big things I dislike about cons, a lot of people seem to go there and take the friendly atmosphere as meaning that literally everyone is their closest friend and there are absolutely no boundaries, especially if they show any interest in something you're interested in.
Only two times a year. Hugs are a necessary part of the conning experience.
No, you generally ask first. I mean unless you are a smoking hot girl then okay, but hell even the qt's ask.
No kidding. I've been to a fair amount of cons by now and gotten my fair share of weird interactions. Generally, in the country I live in it seems pretty mellow. People ask before doing, most of the time. But I've had strangers making weird noises at me, patting my head, weird stuff like that, all out of nowhere. It kinda puts you off. Has happened to a few of my friends as well.
Why didn't he just sock the turd right in his big dumb mug?
