Ok, so I got my new phone since last summer it's an HTC Touch Pro2.. In the upper corner as you can see, next to the small front speaker, are 2 built-in LED lights. One of them starts to flash if you get a new text message. Now here's the problem, sometimes I hallucinate it's flashing, so I keep on looking if I got a new text, and it is starting to get pretty annoying.. Has anyone experienced something similar or does anyone know how to get rid of it? The same goes for the sound it makes, I sometimes think I hear it, and when I look there's nothing there, when I ask other people they don't seem to have heard it either.. It also happens when I'm fully sober, so it has nothing to do with drugs or alcohol etc.
It happens at the first days I got my Blackberry, it stopped now though.
Yeah, it's sort of like the thing where you imagine your phone is vibrating.
But summer was already more than 6months back, and it hasn't stopped.. :/
Usually when I go to bed, there is a small mirror in front me. When I don't watch it directly I see a light. But when I watch it directly, I see nothing.(sorry if I did bad spelling. English isn't my language)
Yeah, it's sort of like the thing where you imagine your phone is vibrating.
Yes, I purposely turned off the vibration in text messages as that was even worse..
I shit myself when I see a phone vibrate. Why? Because I used to plug my iPhone in at about 10pm or 1am and when your trying to get a bit of midnight browsing it, and you get a text message/push alert/facebook/or it starts charging I would just drop my phone, because it was a break in the atmosphere. DON'T FUCKING ASK
Maybe it flashes to say its on as well? My crapy flip top phone does that.
I have this problem but only with sound. I keep hearing the "blip" steam makes when someone writes something in the chat.
Sometimes I feel my phone vibrate for a while, like someone is calling me. But when I check the phone, nobody is there. :ohdear:
everytime someone try's to contact me in a train or park. i always grab my phone and pretend i'm talking :owdear:
Maybe it flashes to say its on as well? My crapy flip top phone does that.
No, it doesn't.. It's in the settings when it will flash, but I always like to be able to see immediately whether I got a text or a missed call, so I turned it on.
I have this problem but only with sound.
I have this problem but only with sound. I keep hearing the "blip" steam makes when someone writes something in the chat.
I get the same problem. Usually when I am tired or am having a nap. I think it is a very minor exploding head syndrome.
I think it is a very minor exploding head syndrome.
Got some explanation of what to do with it and what it actually is?
I get this but in a slightly different way. Being a gamer, hunter and just probably a normal person my eyes often catch the tiny blink of the message LED but if a light gets shined on the phone real quick or if (like earlier today) I leave my phone face up and sit at the right angle to my monitor the changes in screens, movies, TV, or games get my attention and make me check the phone. It happens.

this happens to everyone who uses their cellphone on a daily basis for example i keep my cell phone in my right pocket only. if it's in the left it feels wierd and if i dont have it in my right pocket i feel naked. also sometimes i'll will think my phone just vibrated when it actually didnt. and sometimes i'll hear my ringtone in my head and think i got a message.
I get it with Steam and Facebook and pretty much anything that makes a noise or vibrates...
So, it seems to be a pretty common problem, but what's the solution to get rid of it again?
Sweet. I have the same phone. Mine doesn't flash like that thought unless I get a text or a missed call.
Yeah, it's sort of like the thing where you imagine your phone is vibrating.
.
My phone flashes a green light just to say it is turned on.. (Or red if the battery is low) It also flashes a blue light to say the bluetooth is enabled, and a orange one if the wireless LAN is enabled. It's like a rave when everything is turned on :bubblewoop: I have gotten used to it now though and live with it.
Sweet. I have the same phone. Mine doesn't flash like that thought unless I get a text or a missed call.
Yeah, but the problem is that I'm now often thinking it's flashing, and when I look there's nothing..
Sometimes I think I hear the "pop" sound that accompanies receiving an IM on Facebook, but thats about it.
I used to hear the Xbox achievement sound, or when the little message pops up.
You think you have mates but you're wrong
For me, it feels like my phone is vibrating in my pocket, sometimes when it isn't even there. Pretty damn annoying. .
You're all like those dogs that are subconsciously trained to drool when the bell rings
I also hear the Steam message sound all the time (new Beta one, not the old one)
Ah yes, I have a Moto Droid. Which flashs a Green light when I get a text. Sometimes when it's on my desk, in the corner of my eye I think it has flashed when it hasn't and gets annoying. If you go into settings there should be a setting to turn it off, I know there's one on Android.
