cautiously optimistic about this game
I really want the story to be good and more than just "go fight save X".
I really loved the first game. I hope that whatever feedback they got from the tech test made them change the game to be more like the first.
I really want the story to be good and more than just "go fight save X".
Over development they talked about that they want the story to focus a bit more on the bond between Jack and BT while trying to kick the IMC off the planet. Think of BT as The Iron Giant in a world full of fighting and you can see where Respawn is going with this.
"I detect sarcasm..." God i love that kind of shit.
Looks like the singleplayer will be worth it at least - sucks that they changed the mulitplayer quite a bit but hopefully they took the criticism from the beta well

Since the tech test, they've increased player movement speed and brought back bunny hopping from the first game and made the Titan meter a timer again (so Titans are no longer kill streaks). Also, Attrition.

I didn't know this was a thing before.

The main downsides of Titanfall 2 right now are the maps (the ones in the network test were flat and quite small), the reduced maximum height (no more launching 50 metres up from your titan), and the titans being pre-set classes, rather than being completely customisable. If none of that bothers you T2 will probably be your thing. All those bother me immensely, but whatever I'll just play Battlefield.
Did they being back bots?
I said they brought back Attrition. Also the game had NPC enemies, they just weren't on the same level they were in the first game (though in Attrition they are).

They're gonna kill the Robutt aren't they?
They're gonna kill the Robutt aren't they?
"You stay. I go. No following"
They're gonna kill the Robutt aren't they?
Or they'll do a fakeout where it looks like he's destroyed, but they recover his AI memory core or something so they can put it into a new robutt body
They kill the main character, and you play the robot as he finishes the mission on his own
A guy from "the lowest of the militia" who "wants to be a pilot" gets a chance to finish some crucial mission using a giant mech after it's initial pilot, a dude with some japanease name, gets killed on the battlefield. Where have I seen this already? Oh yeah, that was in some film with the word "matrix" in it's title.
They kill the main character, and you play the robot as he finishes the mission on his own
If they really hated you, they'd put you in a scenario where you're absolutely swarmed by enemies, BT says "Pilot, you must initiate self-destruct sequence," and you can refuse to press it, and try to fight, but it'd just be way too fucking much. So, you'll either get killed by them, or self-destruct BT.
Matt Mercer's voicing the protagonist, it can't be all that bad.
