Tomorrow, Universal will begin the international theatrical rollout for Dracula Untold, an origin story that reveals the events and choices that set human Vlad Tepes (Luke Evans) on a path to becoming the infamous vampire known as Count Dracula. As such, rumors have been circulating about whether or not the film will be part of Universal’s reboot of its Shared Monsters Universe. According to producer Alissa Phillips (see above), it’s currently intended to be part of the relaunch.
Certain members of the Screen Rant staff have seen Dracula Untold (look for our review when it arrive in the U.S. next week) and can confirm that the film does indeed feature material that appears to be setup for a fresh Shared Monsters Universe – something that early reviews for the movie have likewise alluded to.
It's got a 20% on Rotten Tomatoes right now.
Hope It's good.
Hasn't been a good vampire movie in ages IMO.

Reviews in this day in age are always negative.. unless its IGN and COD then its always positive.
I'll form my own reviews

Including your own review of reviews.
If it ends up with a big crossover film with all the monsters getting the shit beat out of them by Simon Belmont, them I'm all for it.

Remaking what? Just checked the wiki and says it's a continuation of the series
Only interest I have in this movie is to sate my need for Castlevania material, and this is about as close as I can get right now.
Even if Dracula Untold is a shitty film, it at least looks like an enjoyably bad film.
this movie looks fucking awful
I thought it looked stupid from the trailer, but a kind of stupid I'll still go and see.
I can't wait for the half in the bag review.
I can't help but wish that they mixed up the status quo and made it like Vlad was a vampire hunter at a time when the Ottomans were ruled by vampires and the Order of Dracul was an order of vampire hunters.
Funnily enough, this is probably the closest any blockbuster film ever got to the actual Vlad Tepes
Yeah when the ad started for this when I saw it on TV a couple weeks ago I thought "neat, a movie about the real Vlad Tepes, I'll probably have to see that."
then came the non real stuff and I lost any sort of interest. Way to waste a rich and interesting period of history.
I'd see it purely for the costume design.. that looks sick!

It is. It's trash, but enjoyable trash. It knows what it is and delivers exactly what you expect.
