So I've been looking at A KIA Soul Sport edition and I want to know if this would be a good car. It's $14,000.
Define "good car", if you want a cheap economic car with a warranty that's almost best in the business go for it. Don't look at as for help to "upgrade" the engine so you can get more HP, or when your interior starts falling apart after 100k miles. Kia's are made quick, cheap, and dirty.
Personally I fucking love the 2013 Nissan Sentra for the price, but has a smaller warranty.
5 year / 60,000 miles
Its all up to your bro, every one here will have there own personal preference for a new / new-used car.
Get a Dodge Dart, Quick, economical, pretty cheap, sorta neat looking, and good build quality.

For $14,000 you can get a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay nicer used car than a KIA Soul.
Get a Nissan Skyline GTR or a Ferrari
They make great gas mileage and good daily drivers.

New Kias come with a pretty solid warranty and are pretty handsome looking cars, IMO.
My mom has a Kia Optima from their shitty period (2004); the electronics are all terrible but it has a really solid engine and mechanical components and surprisingly, a sport-shift mode.

I like the dodge dart mainly for its styling- literally taking a classic muscle look and morphing it into a modern day economy car. I find that pretty cool. Plus its well built inside, unlike kia's where you can literally pull off the door panels with your hands haha.
And from what I hear they are somewhat peppy as well!
Kia's suck
So I've been looking at A KIA Soul Sport edition
Have your eyes started burning yet?
I have a hard time looking at that abomination for extended periods of time.
So to recap, Kias are just a bit on the bad side of build quality and you should stay away from them. From the look of it, the entire interior of the Soul looks to be made of the same material you find in knockoff Tupperware, which isn't exactly the most desirable feature.
I'd personally recommend the Dodge Dart just because they're so freaking cool, but I have that same problem that Deadman123 has in that the Chrysler option is automatically the best option.

And to be fair, the Kia Soul is not a terrible-looking car. the lines are clean and not too overwhelming, and the styling is funky and abstract. It's definitely one of those cars you'll either really enjoy or really hate looking at, and that's just because the styling is so much less conservative than other cars. Hell, I bet there are people out there that like the look of the Juke, but let's not talk about those people.
i went to kias website and i cant find the soul sport.
but mpg wise best 1.6 auto and manual is 25 city 27 combined 30 highway worse is 2.0 auto at 23 city 25 combined 28 highway.
thay are several awd cuv that beat those numbers and are twice the size. the eco will just get you 31 highway.
i vote no...... i would vote juke over the kia.
Eh, Kia/Hyundai has gotten better recently, but in my opinion Kias are still shit. Take that money and get something much better that's a couple years older.
Kia and sport in the same sentence, kill me.
You can buy a pristine VW Golf R32 for the same price and still have money left over to maintain it for a few years.
I'm not sure if you're planning on buying a brand new one. But if you are remember you can buy a GREAT two year old car for about the price of a nice brand new car.

I know location plays a big part in this but... where the hell are you seeing "pristine" Golf R32s for 14k?

Sorry I didn't specify what type but Mark4's around here. There was a running one for 8k but I haven't seen any 14k ones pop up in the last few weeks. There are people I know that got them maybe 6-12 months ago for 14k.
I seriously had to laugh at this ad though:
