I've always wondered what type of experiments the Nazis actually carried out, and i really want to learn/know. Not in a sadistic 'i'm going to do it' way, it just interests me. Like I've heard stuff about Nazis having mysterious groups and places etc in which they would carry out top secret shit, and or unspeakable things. Sorry if i come across as a total idiot, im just really curious, if someone could enlighten me on the subject of experiments/groups the Nazis had, i'd really appreciate it
Google Josef Mengele. Enough said.
they made fanta
I wouldn't advise looking them up unless you plan on not sleeping for the next week or so.
A significant amount of experiments were conducted on the death camp prisoners, many of which were to test the human body's endurance to various things. One experiment iirc was to test how low the core body temperature of a person could fall before they die. The data for this was used to design clothing for the Luftwaffe to keep their pilots alive in cold water after jumping out of the plane. I think that data is still being used today, justified as being important enough that the lives it continues to save offsets the lives taken away in the pursuit of that data. Quite a few experiments had no scientific value whatsoever, especially a lot of what Josef Mengele did e.g. injecting dyes into prisoners' eyes in order to make them blue.

Psychology grew in leaps and bounds during the third Reich. A famous experiment being one where they separated two twins and put them in different families to see if they would develop the same way still.
-snip- I phrased that wrong, i didnt mean it like it was wrote
So it was more 'useless' experiments, than focusing on certain war tactics or w/e ?
Yeah, psychology is definitely 'useless' as opposed to war. :downs:
Look up the pharmaceutical company Bayer, the developers of heroin. They used to be called IG Farben, a pharmaceutical and chemical conglomerate that allegedly sponsored experiments by Nazi torturers. [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] Also, this is a good read, OP!
Their rocket scientists were also really far ahead of everyone else at the time. A lot of the stuff the USA learned about rockets in the 1950's came from old Nazi scientists.
I was watching this a couple nights ago. It's about a Nazi UFO. The back story starts around 2:00, but it gets good at about 10:36.
You can also look up some of their psychological warfare tactics... For instance, the bomber "Stuka" had a siren attached to its belly (also called "Jericho trompete"), that was activated by the plane airbrakes... When a Stuka dived, ready to drop off a bomb, you'd hear something like this: As soon as everyone heard that sound, they were all shitting fucktons of bricks [editline]24th September 2011[/editline] And IIRC, the V1 missiles had a very unique (as in scary-as-fuck) sound as well
Yeah, psychology is definitely 'useless' as opposed to war. :downs:
Yeah i realise i didnt mean that like i wrote it, disregard it
Also, this is a good read, OP!
That was pretty interesting [editline]24th September 2011[/editline]
You can also look up some of their psychological warfare tactics... I know, right? Just imagine that sound, 250x louder... Seriously, you'd shit a fucking brick factory in a nanosecond :/

And, on top of that, imagine a fucking fleet of 300+ of those things, bombing a city... You'd hear that fucking siren almost non-stop... That would really demoralize and put fear in the minds of anybody, guaran-fuckin'-teed. They sure were really fucking good at mastering psychological warfare (as in almost everything else they did)... I'll give them that.

It's the japs you should research if you're into this shit. Image search 'Unit 731' on Google, but I must warn you that it's highly NSFW.
