Good article. I hope Shepard returns somehow in the future though.
I want a seven hour war game with him.
i jacked my cock 2 this article~~~!!!
I stopped reading as soon as they called "Freeman" a tacky last name
This article is fucking dumb.
Shepard is a pretty common name in the military.

Also, as a side note.

This article was a bit less dumb than it was just flat-out horrible.
Wow, writers at HLFallout are you retarded? It's Opposing Force, not Opposing Forces, there is no 'S' there, hell even the article you linked has it right...
They mention that it is Gordon's first day of work, this makes very little sense as I doubt a team of scientists let the 'new guy' operate their expensive and highly dangerous equipment on his first day.
this might hold you over until he's brought back in Half-Life 2: Episode 3 (fingers crossed).
Which probably won't happen.
-Hey, freeman, its good to see you. (because everyone knows the guy who works his first day) :downs:
-Hey doctor freeman, I've had buncha messages for you but system went down, i don't know.. like 20 minutes ago... (Because they send you messages before your first day) :downs:
-My dad worked with you in Black Mesa back then (Because saying "Gordon, I'm busy right now, wait until after the experiment is called to work with) :downs:
-Doctor Freeman? is it really you? I've heard so much about you in Black mesa! (So this new guy, his first work day and we sent him to do our greatest experiment, he got his suit, gone to test chamber, BOOM! world as we know ended) :downs:
Yeah, I agree - article is full of errors.

-Doctor Freeman was the Employee of the Month on his first day.
It never said it was his first day in Half-Life 1.. did it? I thought it said that in Opposing Force.. which would just be a simple plot hole.
He is right about the Barnacle being useful.
The "storyline" in the Half Life series is so inconsistent. It's just a hodgepodge of BS that never answers any questions.
how dare you >:(

Gordon wasn't even a real scientist, so maybe he specialized in putting crystals into big beams capable of destabilizing the universe.
maybe that is why i love lost so much

didn't you read the in-box literature before instaling hl1???

I think they're meaning first time for a while
Cause Gordon got a closet with pictures, clothes and random stuff in there.
Where did everyone get the idea that Gordon fucked over the anti-mass spectrometer on his first day at work? Everything in the game indicates that he had worked at Black Mesa for a while.
I'm thinking because of Gordon's skills, he was employed in many places and maybe a few times at black messa, before. I know before he was employed to black mesa (maybe again?) that led to HL1, he was stationed in Australia.
Oh God, this article is horrible. They're laughing at Gearbox for screwing up the canon by making Gordon employee of the month? GEE, BECAUSE IT TOTALLY COULDN'T BE THAT YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S WRONG, RIGHT? :v:
And calling it "Opposing Forces" ruins its meaning. It's Opposing Force because that's the side you're playing as in this game. I never got how people always messed that up. Same with "Game Boy Advanced".
But in Opposing Force, there is employee of the month picture frame up. Doesn't make any sense Gordon couldn't have been at Black mesa for even a week. So everyone knowing Gordon at black mesa in HL1 could have just been his reputation.

I'm currently looking for what I saw, it was a letter asking for Gordon's employment and some wiki had a time line of events

If you read it, all of the date clues they gathered are from Gearbox products. They got the month from the instruction manual to the PS2 HL2, which was done by Gearbox, and the day from the instruction manual to Opposing Force, which was also done by Gearbox.
They even state on that page that the exact date has never actually been given, and that they are only using deduction based on beta/Gearbox work to decide when it happens.
