They're not just Russian anymore.
Kalashnikov USA announced on Tuesday that it is now selling AK-47 assault rifles and shotguns that have been manufactured at a U.S. factory.
The Kalashnikov USA web site provides a menu of two rifles and two shotguns, all semiautomatics. One of the rifles features a curved, banana-style high-capacity magazine with 30 rounds.
Thomas McCrossin, CEO of Kalashnikov USA, told CNNMoney in January, at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, that his company was going to manufacture the guns in America as soon as a factory was established. The company has not told CNNMoney where that factory is located.
The Kalashnikov USA brand is owned by RWC in Pennsylvania. The company's slogan is, "Russian heritage, American innovation."
There's only two rifles and two shotguns available for purchase, both chambered in 7.62x39 and 12 gauge respectively. I'm just happy at the fact that we could soon have US made parts for ever piece of the rifles, so 922R compliance will be easier.
these guns look pretty cool
wonder how reliable they are compared to the other versions (then again i know nothing about actual guns so)
Sweet! My dad will like this.
hoho boy news outlets are gonna fucking freak when they see this:

I wonder how he'd feel about Russia's new AK upgrade kit.

Yes

Now if only they could start making SVDs..
Also when did 30 round mags start being high capacity when that is standard to the rifle?

Not really a fan about how "Tacticool" it is.
I'd prefer the classic wood and iron thank you very much.
Kalashnakov spinning in grave at hideous abomination of cowboy firearms incest.
Honestly, I don't think he would care. The latest version of the AK was mostly designed when he was still alive; it has a designed fore-grip and casket-style(quadstack, as some will call it) magazines allowing for higher capacities with minimal silhouette changes, as well as a semi-burst-auto fire selector.

If it is made to spec, you would be able to buy aftermarket wood furniture and slap it on easily.

Subtle bullshit to make people think more bullets = bad

I'm no expert either but I can't imagine it being much different. AKs are super reliable and if they didn't fuck with the mechanism dramatically it should function identically to already established versions.
If it is made to spec, you would be able to buy aftermarket wood furniture and slap it on easily.
There is a wood version made by Kalash USA but it's not on display on the page. But the fact that most of the parts can be swapped is basically the key to Kalashnikov's. The only problem would be to make sure you're getting stamped receiver parts instead of machined receiver parts. Different ways of attaching the stock, pistol grip, and barrel.
they have no soul
I hope they'll have models that come with the classic furniture because that shit is ugly. Or at least bring the AK-12 over

You realize AKs that look similar to that are common among Russian counter-terrorist forces and in the war in Ukraine, right?

:bullshit:
These rifles have nothing to do with the Izhmash/Kalashnikov Concern factory in Russia, they just got permission to use their branding. They're not even the first AKs made in the US, not by a long shot.

Those "American made AK's" are made from parts kits of different make and model. These rifles are made from 100% American made parts.
you know, just in case you want undershooting rifles at standard AR-15 prices.
let me know when they start making Russian-style sidemounting optics (instead of worthless dust-cover rail mounts) and then I'll be interested
I'm gonna order one and paint it bright pink.

Are you high.
These rifles literally have what you describe.

Really, it's like.. Sure, make the SUPER HIGH CAPACITY DANGEROUS SPOOKERIFIC MAGGOCLIPS illegal and keep it down to like 10 round maximum.
If I'm going to start running down the street a la Bill Williamson in Rampage, I'll just carry more magazines.

isnt arsenal 100% us made?
isnt arsenal 100% us made?
I thought so too, but some brief research suggests the receiver blanks and barrels are made by the actual Arsenal factory in Bulgaria, I don't know about other parts. However apparently even these 'US made' Kalashnikov USA AKs are just Saigas that have been converted by the importer, they're not even really US made either.
I want to shoot guns so badly but I live in Canada. Most of them aren't legal.
Bummer.

Do we? I've always been told otherwise. Maybe I was misinformed.
Something I need to look more into
Edit: I don't know. I just found something saying all assault rifles are prohibited in Canada
