Hey folks, I just bought my first AEG and the battery's currently being charged. I was fooling about with the gun as I waited, but as I put the magazine in, it slipped right out. I can't get it to stay at all and I honestly have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing. Am I missing something or is my magazine fucked?
You should push the magazine into the well until it clicks into place. If it refuses to do that, there may be a problem. If you can take a picture of the magazine, that'd help.
Aside from the mag it could also be a problem with the catch, but that's harder to take a picture of so we'll start with the mag.
Also, next time use the questions thread please.

Fuck, sorry. No point in bothering now. Here's a pic of the mag taken off of google images.

If your mag looks exactly the same there may be something wrong with the mag catch.
Or wrap some electrical or grip tape around the top to make it stick. Usually helps on a loose mag.
Smack it really hard. If it still doesn't go in, file down some on the top of the mag catch.

That's how you solve loose mags and feeding issues. His apparently doesn't even stay in, the mag catch doesn't engage and it'll just flop out.

Try this. Filing the catch will void the warranty if you have one. You can also push the mag release button, insert mag and release the button to see if that'll work.
Seems more of a mag catch problem to me then.
I really don't want to do anything that'll void the warranty.
If I hold the mag in and push the mag catch forwards, it holds it for a bit before loosening up and it falls out again. It more than likely is a problem with the mag catch.

You have two options now.
A. Send it back.
B. File the top of the mag catch.

Alright. How exactly would I go about filing the mag catch? I can provide any pictures if you need any.
Take a picture of the mag release on both sides please.
No need! I fixed it by bending out the spot on the mag that the catch wedges into. Works like a charm.
faulty mags/ bad design then?
Well it's an E1 so they probably don't have super tight tolerances on small stuff like mags.
Or excellent quality control.
thats funny
my m16vn mag that came w/ it is kinda tight and the magwell doesn't fit my CA 20 rounder style mag
