It would be a good, albeit unexpected move, and it'll be exciting to know what happens after Nintendo's conference on September 29, which is also the pre-order date the GameStop rumor is setting.

No offense I don't think Nintendo will get it completely right the first time with their history of underpowered hardware (and, erm, the virtual boy)

Even though Nintendo does have a good history with making consoles right the first time, the last time this was tried was the Virtual Boy - and frankly I think Nintendo is biting off a bit more than they can chew here by releasing a console while this type of 3D screen is still being developed.[/QUOTE]
The people who have tried it say it works great. This type of tech should work fine on a handheld.

Successor to the Nintendo DS series of mobile platforms, it will have new features, and greatly improved upon hardware. Most notably, the 3D display that does not require glasses.
