Clever.
How do you think TSA looks inside your bag? All these travel locks make it REAL easy for airport security to look through your shit without you knowing.

a lock is a deterrent, nothing more.

I don't know much about locks so I'm curious to hear your opinion on the ones that you spin.
There are a ton of videos on how to create a shim out of a coke can to open em. As I've never owned one, I haven't played with it.
My flat mate bought one of these for his door, I cracked it in front of him, £6 well spent.
I loved how he just pulled out a crystal ball to compensate for the camera focus.
This doesn't work on some locks. My bike lock has the same 4 number lock but you cant pull it and it doesn't lock in place as you spin it.
the clips from an alligator clip works as a shim as well with some work and bending of the metal. I made one that unlocked a standard padlock, plus my house lock, but I trashed it since it could easily fuck up and break off inside the lock.

All locks have to be TSA approved which means there is a "master" key that unlocks all of these locks. Normally if your bag is searched they have to leave you a notice saying so, and if they took anything has a list of what they seized. Though before traveling i inventory my bag, and keep that list in my wallet or something. I've never had anything stolen or seized. So I'm lucky I guess, though when I was at Glasgow I was randomly selected for a pat-down and search. Nothing over the top, that was it.

Oh cool. I used to watch your old oe cake videos a few years ago. Nice to see you have a FP account
Where did you get the crystal ball? It's badass.

Then to close you wrap the padlocked zipper back around and it seals it without a problem.
The only purpose of locks is to make the thief pick a different target. I don't think the rings on my bike lock locks in place however. The crystal ball thing was damn cool, very clever.

I thought the same when I was younger, however all the locks I've tried to do it with don't exhibit this behaviour. Not that I go around and pull on random locks, or anything, but any cambo locks I do have I've tried it on. Perhaps it's something to do with airport security in different countries where the locks are sold, as someone above mentioned. I'm in the UK so perhaps it's less common here?
How do you think TSA looks inside your bag?
Oh cool. I used to watch your old oe cake videos a few years ago. Nice to see you have a FP account
Nice :) I have an older account here, from around that time, but I don't wanna even try to resurrect it in case some power tripper bans me again.
Where did you get the crystal ball? It's badass.
LOL believe it or not, I got it off my old lady. When I discovered I couldn't make the lock picking vid due to my leftover potato from the irish famine, I remembered that she had one of those balls. Why? I have no idea, but I thought it would improve the focus on my potato, and boy did it improve it beyond my imagination.
With them you can't crack them like in the video because there's no metal rod to pull on.
Uhh... same principle. Those things usually have a release button or slider. Push/pull on that as you spin. Or just pull both ends apart as if you are opening the suitcase, if it pops open when the combo is right. Same deal.
I thought the same when I was younger, however all the locks I've tried to do it with don't exhibit this behaviour. Try moving them left to right on each number, see if a particular number has a little more give. Or when spinning up/down, feel the tension, feel for a click, etc.
They pop a pin in the zipper and pull it open, then they move the sealed zippers back and forth to close it back again.
Mentioned twice already. And I gave two suitcase examples examples above, which render a pen totally useless.
I loved how he just pulled out a crystal ball to compensate for the camera focus.
That was smart as fuck and the zooming was good too.
