Mexican army Gen. Alfonso Duarte says the tunnel is about 328 yards (300 meters) long and 6 feet (1.8 meters) in height. The entrance is hidden in a house under construction and the exit has not been dug. Duarte said Friday that nine men and a woman have been arrested and accused of being responsible for the tunnel's construction. He said the house included an altar to "Santa Muerte," a skeletal icon adored by some drug traffickers. Last November, authorities in Tijuana, which is south of San Diego, Calif., found between 25 and 30 tons of marijuana in a 600-meter tunnel.
Did they put a big black tarp on it?
He said the house included an altar to "Santa Muerte," a skeletal icon adored by some drug traffickers.
This bit disturbed me.
im sorry did the article say 25-30 tons of drugs? daayuuuum
Sometimes Drug Cartels remind me of supervillians. They have tons of devoted mooks at their desposal, instill fear in the local population, are well known yet nearly untouchable, and always seem to be doing something wacky and unconventional in order to furtheir their goals. [editline]12th August 2011[/editline] All they need is flashy uniforms and maybe a front corporation.
Good, their drugs are as dirty as their skin (User was banned for this post ("Stereotyping / "racism"" - Swebonny))
Good, their drugs are as dirty as their skin
Uhh, what?
Substantial find.
Now blow up the tunnel.
keep it and use it as a tourist attraction
No you really need to blow it fucking up. The altar is there for a reason you know...

Seriously if the drug violence on the border gets worse, both the Mexican and American military might need to become further involved.
Kind of off topic but weeds is an amazing show and all of you should watch it.
The new season is great too.
Kind of off topic but weeds is an amazing show and all of you should watch it.
The subject matter doesn't interest me :v:
This bit disturbed me.
that quote is incredibly misleading. santa muerte is adored by a large part of the mexican population in general. its like the saint of death to them. in fact mexican culture has a large reverence for the dead as you can see with their "day of the dead". having an altar set up especially for drug traffickers, who have an incredibly risky job, seems fitting.

Due to how often they dish it out, that made sense.
