I seem to like jazz more and more recently, and this forum is lacking a thread about jazz in general (especcially saxophonez!) so if you have some awsome jazz artists/bands or songs please post them here. Also, i'll be bying a saxophone soon, eny recommendations and/or things i need to look out for? Should i buy a used or a new one? My favourite atm is definatly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMnrl0tmd3k&feature=related and with www.rainymood.com running in the background.... amazing kthxbai :D<3 btw i did look through the first 5 or so pages, and did not find eny threads dedicated to jazz
Smooth jazz makes me wanna vomit. fusion jazz is where it's at.
That's the "Get Classy" song isn't it I can't find a download for it, neither can I find any other song by the same artist/band Anyways, John Coltrane is amazing and so is Paul Desmond this is also a good song, no idea who wrote it though [editline]7th May 2011[/editline]
Smooth jazz makes me wanna vomit. fusion jazz is where it's at. Thanks for contributing :) [editline]7th May 2011[/editline] That's the "Get Classy" song isn't it I can't find a download for it, neither can I find any other song by the same artist/band Anyways, John Coltrane is amazing -John Coltrane video- ugh, the quality! i'm sure it would've sounded great, but the quality turned me off :(. and so is Paul Desmond -Paul Desmond video- that is so good! exactly the type of jazz i like. stay classy, stay classy. this is also a good song, no idea who wrote it though -Random wedding jazz video- thats chill, good for the mood of a wedding/50yr birthday :D

Check out other stuff with the Dave Brubeck quartet. I suggest getting the album Time Out; named so because all the songs have weird time signatures. You may also enjoy Charles Mingus. Sometimes he's pretty crazy but other times he's more contemplative. [editline]7th May 2011[/editline] Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is probably the most listened to of all jazz albums. It's not as grabby as Charles Mingus or John Coltrane but there's a big sense of humbleness and coolness in the music which makes it very addicting for me. Kind of Blue isn't as interesting as some of his others. However it happens to be what it is. Smooth Jazz is greatness. [editline]8th May 2011[/editline] Duke Ellington is crazy good.

Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson is awesome, though he's a bit more to the blues genre, but I'm sure you'll still like it, it's so perfect and harmonic.
