In this moment is an American heavy metal band formed in 2005. They have released two albums to date, both on Century Media Records. The band's sound is recognizable mainly for vocalist Maria Brink's use of a combination of screaming and clean vocals.
Here are my 3 favorite songs...
'Prayers'

I haven't heard one good thing about these guys.
This ain't bad.
I like it, it's catchy.
It's nothing original and unique, but it's alright.

Sorry not recognizable a million bands use clean and dirty vocals.
Most notabley Scar Symmetry, Fear Factory and Textures.
EDIT: watched 5 seconds of prayers, hated it, sounds generic already and reminds me of bullet with a chick fronting them
...oh wait...

And in this corner... Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you... The biggest, the baddest, the meanest... He is...
bravehat, the metal elitist!

That being said, listening to Prayers now, and while the vocals are not particularly notable, for the sound they're attempting to achieve, they accomplish it adequately. I'm not a fan of screams at all, regardless of who uses them or how they're achieved, so I can't accurately comment on the screams. The clean vocals are okay, though I actually do like the chorus (assuming the super clean part is chorus; I haven't looked at the lyrics or listened too closely, seeing as I am writing this whilst I listen to the song).
In fact, now that I think about it, her cleans are quite good. The instrumentation gives a nice, heavy feel to it. By no means are they original, but you don't have to be original to be good. It's better than a lot of other *core I've listened to. I wouldn't listen to them on my iPod, but I wouldn't change stations if this song were to come on.
All in all, they're pretty good. Not doing anything noteworthy, but then, very few bands in the metal circles these days do anything noteworthy (and yes, that encompasses all metal. Scar Symmetry may be awesome sounding, but they're far from original; Fear Factory may be a manifestation of aggression and industrial anger, but it's been done many times now; I can't say anything about Textures because I never heard them before.)
Honestly, the "unoriginal" slash "generic" comment is null and void. Almost all bands/albums being released in the metal circles are "unoriginal." There's only so many years that a genre can exist before it tapers out the creativity and exploration; there's simply nowhere left to go.
I'm not being an elitist, i'm just using examples I know, since all those bands do the same, they use clean vocals and dirty vocals, they just do it better, perhaps it's all because i prefer a certain type of vocals, but my point still stands.
And no where left to go?
Theres ambidjent my boy!!! :v:

Nowhere else to go?
