Words cannot describe how much I'll miss Conan. Someone like Conan doesn't need this to happen to him. He very much deserved hosting The Tonight Show after working for NBC for nearly 20 years (first worked with SNL, then Late Night, and the brief Tonight Show). As he said in his final speech he himself believes that he has a lot to owe to NBC for his success. This is true, however NBC can't just go and screw over a host like that. It's just not right. Leno had his time to be host, and he has finished his run. There should be NO reason whatsoever for Leno to try and reclaim that chair behind the desk. He should honor Conan's hosting.
This kind of stuff just depresses me. A man as brilliant as Conan gets screwed over is just sad. It was his life long dream to be on The Tonight Show. If I recall correctly, he said he grew up watching Johnny Carson and told himself that one day he would be the host. I'm glad he at least got his dream accomplished even if it wasn't for long. 7 months and Conan was still happy to host the show. What a class act.
And well, the past 7 months has been great television I'll tell you that. Conan brought out the funny in everything, and he did the show in his own way making it unique and special. Something that should have lasted more than a decade only lasts for 7 months, and I guarantee you, The Tonight Show will never be the same again.
I'll wait for Conan to get back on TV, meanwhile fuck you NBC and your big chinned geezer. I hope Leno's ratings drop. No one wants to watch a unfunny man trick his audience into laughing.
I grew up watching Leno, and barely watched Conan really. I never really liked Leno, but it was due to his time slot was the reason why I watched. I'd always be up at that time and watch. Soon enough however I began watching Conan, and from there I always watched him. Late Night with Conan was the best late night talk show ever in my opinion.
Conan's talk show is the only one I ever watch on TV. It's comparable to when your favorite show gets canceled, or when you miss shows you haven't seen in years because they are off-air.
Wherever Conan ends up next I'll be sure to watch.
Media I found interesting about this whole ordeal

David Letterman's thoughts on this.

Jay Leno's promise back in 2004.
Conan will be back. With a different station, but he'll be back.
[editline]10:08PM[/editline]
Or he will do internet radio shows like Tom Green.
I prefer the barbarian over the crimson chin any day.

Am I gay if i get aroused by that picture? What big sword he has!

More like, the librarian.
Am I gay if i get aroused by that picture? What big sword he has!
yes.
yes.
Oh my fiancee may not like that and she may be offended if i tape that picture to her back.
I love Conan. He is truly my idol.

You should have watched Conan's speech last night.
Anyway, I've always liked Leno but I also really like Conan too and was really sad to see him leave. Nobody won last night.
I recall watching Leno 10 years ago as a child and thought it was boring and dull. My opinion hasn't changed.
I first saw Conan 4 or 5 years ago and he always ended my day on a good note. Conan is a very humble man and hopefully he returns to television soon.

I've watched his last show about three times already. It was kind of hard to watch when he started tearing up in his final speech.

I was talking about the part about cynicism. Anyway, that was an amazing episode, the ending with Will Ferrel was perfect. I can't wait until he comes back.
i've laughed at what conan has done before but I have never laughed at anything jay leno did
To be fair, he's coming out of this with $30+ million dollars. Life isn't going too bad for him.
His ratings were lower than Leno's tonight show.
I liked Leno better than Conan. Conan tries too hard.

Really the grown man who cried and cried because nobody watched his new show so he had a tantrum to get his old show back. While Conan is more natural and down to earth.
I liked Leno better than Conan. Conan tries too hard.
Conan at the very least tried. Leno got laughs from pity since he was so pathetic. His small pats on the back for completing his introduction are so irritating and disappointing to watch. None of his sketches are funny either.
I still like Leno.
But I like Conan much more.
His ratings were lower than Leno's tonight show.
The Jay Leno Show's ratings were horrible. He had the lead over The Tonight Show because Jay Leno aired in primetime, and since his show sucked no one would tune in to The Tonight Show they were so disgusted with this show. The Jay Leno Show just wasn't a good lead in for The Tonight Show. Jay Leno and NBC are the reasons why Conan had to leave. Had Leno just stayed away after his time on The Tonight Show, Conan would still be at NBC enjoying what he loves.
Better yet, let David Letterman explain this very same thing to you.

Leno is suck. Conan is great, he's just so immature and funny, just how I like my hosts.

I think he meant the ratings while Jay hosted the tonight show. His numbers were much higher than Conan's and Letterman's were, and when Jay the tonight show left Letterman had the highest ratings. Letterman is just upset now because he has to be number two again.
Just wait 7 months for NBC's and Conan's agreement ends. He took his 12 mil and ran with a deal saying he is not allowed to appear on tv for 7 months.
Just think of this as an extended vacation for him, i can see more then a few networks gunning for him.
Hell i could even see him on the daily show or Colbert report for all i know.

Jay was successful when he hosted the show, and I believe that show won a Emmy sometime in the 90's. But when you promise to call it quits and hand over such a prestigious show over you can just steal it back.

I'll miss him during the 7 month gap, but once he's on air, I'll be watching full-time again.
Ah, if Conan is smart and determined to succeed, he'll win in the end.
