http://youtube.com/watch?v=oAM0BkzqivA Now I know Facepunch isn't the best place to talk about football or anything, but having stumbled across this, it's well worth a watch.
You mean soccer right? (User was banned for this post ("Troll" - SteveUK))
No, football. (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Greeman))
You mean soccer right?
I'm starting to grow tired with this. There is a difference between both the American and British English language. In this case there is a divergence, meaning that words and phrases have a different meaning. For this matter, the video shown is what the British language calls Football, and what the American language calls Soccer. Even words that have the same meaning are spelt differently. Like so (American / British): Color / Colour Aluminum / Aluminium Center / Centre Many more can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_and_British_English_spelling_differences If you're interested here's also a list of words that have different meanings in both Britain and American English. This is really odd. I watched the video expecting some shit from Gamespot, and instead I get a video that is not only well made and funny, but from a site at which my brother works as a journalist, and from a man who I have met in person. It's a small world.

It's all a conspiracy I tell ya.
Match of The Day 8-bit v:v:v
FIFA 10 is a fun game, but I really wish that they'd make a good old fashioned return-to-basics football game that was actually fun. Mario Strikers is too far removed, but FIFA 10 is a football game trapped inside a fucking microsoft excel spreadsheet of facts, stats, and random shit I don't give a fuck about. give me a character creator, and the ability to make a team, and i'm happy.

This isn't the American/British colloquialisms argument thread.
I'm pretty sure Joe intentionally derailed the thread, stop making it worse. Interesting and entertaining video nonetheless.
God i remember Sensible Soccer.
For all I'm concerned, if you live in America you will always see it called as Soccer. Period.
Looks like football to me.
A ball is round. Does that thing look round? Plus, they only kick the ball like only at the start, then they just carry it.
It's because the ball is a foot long.
It's because the ball is a foot long.
Don't you mean the egg?
No I think it's called soccer
No I think it's called soccer
No, it really isn't.
People don't understand the differences in the English language and British (English) language. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_football Read up.

hey how about all of you shut up and just call it football, and american football.
Don't you mean the egg?
This is an egg. This is a football. The football is too pointy and fetus-less to be called an egg. How about you all shut the fuck up and get back on topic?
No, it really isn't.
Actually it is proven
Actually it is proven
Joe read my last post.
