• Jon Huntsman to Americans: Trust me

[release]Do you trust the president? Washington lawmakers? Wall Street? If not, Jon Huntsman says he's your man. The former Utah governor and U.S. Ambassador to China on Thursday argued in a speech at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. that he is the best leader to restore Americans' trust in Congress, the tax code, wars, Wall Street and its regulators--and especially in the presidency itself. "The American people have been let down time and again," Huntsman said. "They have lost confidence in how our nation is run. As a result, anxiety and worry have filled our nation's psyche. We are a country divided and suffering from self doubt." "Correcting our course and restoring trust with the American people will take more than rhetoric and slogans." Huntsman outlined*a seven-point plan to get America back on track and improve Americans' outlook. Among the objectives on that list: reforming the tax code; tackling the deficit by cutting government spending; ensuring that no financial entity is "too big to fail"; adopting a comprehensive energy policy; bringing troops home from Afghanistan; and reforming Congress via term-limits and lobbying restrictions.[/release] Source Best GOP candidate by far.

the only GOP candidate that isn't a lunatic and yet he is the one least likely to get the nomination
the GOP voterbase isn't interested in a pragmatic. it reminds them too much of obama.
the GOP voterbase isn't interested in a pragmatic. it reminds them too much of obama.
how do you know this?
how do you know this?
it's an observation.
it's an observation.
based off of what? my observations are as good as yours, and from what i observe, they just want somebody that they can relate to / agree with (also someone who's good looking)
the GOP voterbase isn't interested in a pragmatic. it reminds them too much of obama.
no, it's because he's Mormon, which according to them isn't real Christianity. Since religion is much more important than policies.
based off of what? my observations are as good as yours, and from what i observe, they just want somebody that they can relate to / agree with (also someone who's good looking)
okay. i don't see how that contradicts what i said.
okay. i don't see how that contradicts what i said.
it's not a contradiction, just how can you say things so conclusively if your point is based on something so flimsy
it's not a contradiction, just how can you say things so conclusively if your argument is based on something so flimsy
It's not an argument so why are you starting one...
the only GOP candidate that isn't a lunatic and yet he is the one least likely to get the nomination
I read an article in my university's paper that I agree with outlining the basic positions in the race of republican candidates, and they came to the conclusion that Huntsman is picking up more and more steam, and while others are dropping off like flies at this point, we're probably going to see a big focus on Hunstman near the end, pitting him against Gingrich and Romney. The writer didn't think that Gringrich would get the nomination, but still.

He should use that song in his ad campaigns.
I'm hoping the next candidate to suddenly get a big push is Huntsman, but I'm not confident. He's the only GOP candidate that, if I lived in the US, would consider voting for.
Best GOP candidate by far.
With the state of the GOP at the moment that's like saying 'best smelling shit' [editline]11th December 2011[/editline]
;33666980']I read an article in my university's paper that I agree with outlining the basic positions in the race of republican candidates, and they came to the conclusion that Huntsman is picking up more and more steam, and while others are dropping off like flies at this point, we're probably going to see a big focus on Hunstman near the end, pitting him against Gingrich and Romney.
With the state of the GOP at the moment that's like saying 'best smelling shit'
Yeah...I can't say I'm too crazy about the guy, he definitely has his fair share of issues but he's still better than the rest of the GOP. I'm not a big fan of how he's supporting the Keystone XL Pipeline despite the fact that he claims to recognize that global warming exists (and that we need to take action to prevent it).

If I could make anyone President with a single vote, it'd either be Obama again or Huntsman. Though I doubt either one wil be getting many votes this year, considering the amount of fucktards that seem to be voting Republican.
no, it's because he's Mormon, which according to them isn't real Christianity. Since religion is much more important than policies.
If that were true, than explain Romeny. He is a mormon as well.
based off of what? my observations are as good as yours, and from what i observe, they just want somebody that they can relate to / agree with (also someone who's good looking)
IE: Someone just as batshit insane and xenophobic as they are.
If that were true, than explain Romeny. He is a mormon as well.
And Fox News and the other candidates started trashing Romney for being Mormon once he managed a foothold in the polls.
no, it's because he's Mormon, which according to them isn't real Christianity. Since religion is much more important than policies.
No, he's Lutheran, which is a slightly-less strict denomination. Anyone who says that isn't a real denomination doesn't know what it is.
Sorry, John, but I don't trust anyone on capitol hill. That includes you. Want me to trust you? Renounce all ties with the GOP and run indy. Or, at the least, get elected and then renounce all ties with the GOP. Don't form any with any other party either. Run the country not for party wishes, religious fanaticism, or personal greed, but for the best of the public as a whole. Balance the mother fucking budget, get the debt under control, stop dicking around in wars we have no business dicking around in, get rid of the corruption and the RIAA. Do that, prove to me that you won't fuck us over like every liberal and conservative we've had since the late 60s, prove to me that you are actually trustworthy and not just singing sweet lullabyes to get votes before you turn around and stab us all in the back yet again, and maybe then I'll trust you. -Signed, one pissed off, frustrated, annoyed American.
