THE luckiest punter in the world has turned an 8c bet into more than $77,000 after picking the first four finishers in the Melbourne Cup. The miraculous bet returned odds of 969,406 to one after the sportsbet.com.au customer put 8c on Green Moon, Fiorente, Jakkalberry and Kelinni to fill the first four positions. Even more incredibly, the bet was the woman's first with the online bookmaker. She spent $1.92 on a number of combinations, with her 8c bet on the four placegetters producing the goods. Sportsbet.com.au spokesperson Shaun Anderson said he was staggered when the seemingly impossible longshot came through. Cup victory: Prebble over the Moon after win "What an amazing bet, made even more extraordinary given it was their first ever bet with us" said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson. The first four paid a New South Wales record $1.4 million with the TAB. "The First 4 is a record in NSW, eclipsing the previous biggest dividend which was on Stakes Day in 2007,” TAB spokesperson Matt Jenkins
http://www.news.com.au/sport/superracing/melbourne-cup-punter-turns-8c-into-77000/story-fndpqu3p-1226511654854 Those are some crazy odds. Bet she was wishing she put few more dollars on it though, could have made it into the 7 figure range
Imagine if she had put 2 dollars on it. That's 25 times what she won, which is 1,925,000.
what if she put a huge sum of money as a bet for that; even unlikely it would probably push the restraints of the betting system and how much money they could give.
Sure must feel good winning over 40,000 times your investment.
I worry, though - It'd be too easy to decide to push her luck.
She must feel devastated that she didn't bet more
Imagine if she bet 50$ or something over 10$
Imagine if she bet 50$ or something over 10$
Imagine if she sold her house, kids clothes, tv, body, pension and future happiness!!
Imagine if she sold her house, kids clothes, tv, body, pension and future happiness!!
Imagine if she went back and bet all the money she won on her previous bet. Then imagine she took her new winnings and bet them again? She'd be infinitely rich!
she should go around betting 10$ of her winnings on shitty players until she's a millionaire
she should go around betting 10$ of her winnings on shitty players until she's a millionaire
And then she ends up losing money She just got really lucky, she shouldn't push it though

I suddenly want to go betting pennies on stupidly low odds. Its the poorman's lottery
she should go around betting 10$ of her winnings on shitty players until she's a millionaire
it's really simple to prove mathematically that this wouldn't work out
It was a joke...
My friend put a 50p bet on some football match results down at Ladbrokes and he won £68K. Pretty good for when you just start college.
