The new combat gauze works the same way but isn't a powder that might get blown about in the wind or helicopter downwash. EVERY Soldier should have Quik-Clot in his Individual First Aid Kit (I-FAK).
Oh, its a potato product. :v: The downside: It costs like 20$ a packet.
That's a disgusting test but holy fuck does that work outstandingly well.
Poor pig :(
That's a disgusting test but holy fuck does that work outstandingly well.
How else are you going to physically test it? You're trying to sell it to the US army. I had the privilege to use one of these before... it smells like instant mashed potatoes.
Holy shit, I didn't realise blood can flow out that fast.
Huh. When was this first invented/introduced?

Ahh shit fuck ass dick's I get all tickled and queasy when I see shit like this and I can't stop squirming. Fuck why does it bother me so much I can't grip anything anymore.
It's just a dead pig, same thing you eat between your sandwiches.
It's just a dead pig, same thing you eat between your sandwiches.
It was a live pig, blood won't spurt like that from a dead pig and there's a reason it was a hospital and not just a bench or something
This sounds and looks amazing. If it really works as they portrayed it, this shoud be part of every first aid kit. Think: traffic, industrial or construction accidents. Actually not having to bleed to death from a punctured major blood vessle would be neat for anyone But it kinda makes you wonder where this kind of technology will take us in terms of warfare. Imagine we come up with more new and efficient ways to treat battlefield injury to the point where most soldiers survive. People would blow each other's limbs off but survive to chuff off home, crippeled physically and mentally. Brings questioning war into a new form of debate. Who is the actual winner of such a war, the party to have the least cripples? The point of any war is, on the very surface, to disarm the other party. Is there a way to do this without shooting each other to bits? Should we look for ways to achieve this or is a non-deadly war too bizarre? Then again, arean't we just approaching the same matter from a differend end here by badly patching up what has been shot to bits so noone has to die? Isn't that almost more bizarre? Kinda makes you think. If the majority of soldiers would get sent home, horribly maimed and scarred, who would actually be motivated to go to war. The mysterious charm and glorification of death and heroism sure play their part in how we feel about going to war or supporting it. I'll just leave you to play with that scenario in your head [img_thumb]http://www.psfk.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Dorothy_0025a-Casualties-of-War-Toy-Soldiers--525x373.jpg[/img_thumb]
his (bad) point was that they'd survive their injuries and that would apparently make war even scarier
I'm just pointing out that a lot of soldiers already survive their injuries and come home mentally and physically damaged.
How much does it hurt? I wouldn't mind it hurting if it'd save my life/limb but pouring a powder into a wound would probably hurt.
I'm just pointing out that a lot of soldiers already survive their injuries and come home mentally and physically damaged.
You say this as if dying is a better option
I'm going to have terrible, terrible nightmares about that video.
I wonder how effective it is for a wound that isn't a large gaping hole.
I wonder how effective it is for a wound that isn't a large gaping hole.
Still effective.. just not practical. They do make it in a pouch form so that you can bandage it on.

Army A wins against army B when they achieve their goal. Which can be conquest, occupation or whatever. There's always a goal. You don't fight to kill.
