The tale of that particular park is quite sad. Most of the faculty was constructed in 2000 (just five years before Katrina), and operated under a different name until Six Flags bought it in 2002. Six Flags New Orleans only existed for three years before being decimated by Katrina. It remains doubtful that it'll ever re-open, given how massive the financial loss was to all involved.
