Well, lately I've been having some issues, and I definitely don't have talent at drawing or photoshoping, but I've been working on a gamemode that I require some neat little textures. If you have played dota, then you have a good idea of what I'm asking of you. (Or really any mmo or rpg). I basically need little character boxes with a fancy and well made character portrait. Some items and such. If you don't know what I mean then: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29422903@N08/2778807208/ Something like this ^ If you can make the texture a vtf file and a vmf file, that'd be fine. But first, I don't want anyone to do this, I want ONE person to do this. So if you're interested and would like to "compete" for this, then either message me here, post some past work or "more realistic" work. (If you have a sort of cartoony feel to it, it's ok, we'll see.) If you do this, and I select you for a position, then you'll obviously get credit for the creation of it, (The "creators" are all on the scoreboard or some sort of "menu") The project isn't really complete, but it'll clear up my mind of this problem and help it go along. You WILL be able to play test it when that stage hits, I'll make you sure you can (if you want to participate at all in the "private beta") So once again, thanks for those who took time reading this and also to those who will at least attempt this participation. I'm going to be honest, the first portrait will be... tedious, because I will probably ask a lot of you. The box isnt very big in the game, but if you feel it's better to have a big image and resize it to the proper thing, then let me know. (This is where the problem may exist though).
People don't usually compete to do things like this, they do them if they can feel like it, if you widen your search parameters, you will have more success.
Perhaps compete was a bad term. You're not competing for it in that sense, I would just like a good artist that loves drawing, to help me. I can't draw good, and I KNOW there are good drawers out there with some sort of motivation.
It would help if you offered payment, as well as the number of character and item portraits needed. I can guarantee you will find no one worth while if you don't pay up at least some money, even if it's just 50 dollars... you could maybe get 10 portraits from that if the artist is feeling generous.
sorry i only do arithmetic avatars
