So, at the beginning of 2013, I made a resolution to lose weight, and I did, but no where near the amount I wanted to lose (Went from ~270 to ~230). Near the end of the year, I got discouraged because I wasn't noticing the results and stopped everything for a month and a half; but recent events have reignited by resolve; I want to be happy with myself, I want to look in the mirror and not feel disgusted anymore. So, now that my school schedule has changed for the Spring 2014 semester, I should be able to work out consistently at least four days of the week for an hour each night (Monday through Thursday). When I lost the weight earlier this year, it was mainly constraining myself to working out after work for an hour on the elliptical and just watching the amount of calories I ate. Going forward, I think I want to mix it up and include some weight lifting so I can tone up while losing weight (The gym in the office complex I work has a few weight machines, dumbbells, etc.). I kind of have a basic idea in mind; but I'm open to taking advice so I can more effectively lose weight, tone up a bit, and hopefully be proud of the way I look instead of ashamed. As of right now, I've got a few supplements I take (B-Vitamins and just today I started using this Whey Protein I've had but never used). I'm also thinking of trying to substitute some of my meals for vegetarian dishes as opposed to just keeping track of calories. August is the date I have to work towards.
too much brain power into this ... just do something, run ,eat less, go to the gym simple as that
Use free weights, do a beginner program, read the sticky, don't be a wimp and try to cop out or make excuses about how hard lifting is. [editline]20th December 2013[/editline] also, stretch and foam roll regularly to avoid joint problems/tendonitis/flexibility issues
