Those lines are awfully sloppy, clean that shit up and it'll look much better.
You're right. Except pixel thin lines don't look really nice.
Maybe I should stick this in flash and trace over it.
I think you have it wrong, pixel thin lines are the second step to creating fully colored, fully shaded and finalized works, what you have is a rough sketch which is essentially the first step.
Now, for an example of nice clean 1 pixel lines.
