In 1987 Car Talk went national on NPR. The Magliozzi brothers were a huge success. Listeners loved their blend of humor, passion, expertise and just plain silliness. Tom and his brother, Ray, became famous as "Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers" on the weekly NPR show Car Talk. They bantered, told jokes, laughed and sometimes even gave pretty good advice to listeners who called in with their car troubles. Tom and Ray haven't done the show live for two years; Car Talk has been airing archives of old shows. Ray would like to continue doing that, as a tribute to his brother. Link
Boy, this is really sad. Everyone I know listened to this show growing up.
I still listen to car talk on the weekends. I didn't realize it hasn't been live for two years.
They haven't done a show live for two years? That's news to me.
Can I download these somewhere?

Car Talk at 10, followed by Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me at 11 every Saturday was my childhood.
Oh damn, I listen to them all the time on my commute to work and I never realized the recordings are over two years old. These guys are great, I hope NPR continues to play their show.
Car Talk at 10, followed by Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me at 11 every Saturday was my childhood.
and then next day was prairie home companion and your weekend had turned from eh to yay
I still listen to car talk on the weekends. I didn't realize it hasn't been live for two years.
Same. For a year and a half I worked every Saturday, by myself, for a medical equipment company. Part of the Saturday routine, be it driving around or working in the warehouse, was spending the morning listening to Car Talk and Wait, Wait. This is very sad.
someone call pikup andorpov, he has to be the driver for the funeral [editline]4th November 2014[/editline] his tombstone should read "and don't drive like my brother"
Damn, I would always listen to them on weekend drives.
