here we go again
What the hell was this guy even thinking trying to gain the trust of fucking Leafy, second only to Keemstar in terms of asshole behavior?
This guy seriously should've seen it coming ala Pyrocynical and GradeAUnderA with Keemstar; the risks clearly outweighed all the "rewards" in this situation.
Oh boy, I guess this is never going to end. :v:

When you are a small youtuber like him, it's pretty understandable why. Getting approached by somebody with a huge fanbase and tons of subs is a good chance at getting tons of exposure and thus views/subs.
Here's a challenge for you, youtube. How about making a video with actual content and substance. Instead of basing it on other people and/or drama. Actually making something. From the ground up, using only your creativity and imagination. No references to pop culture. No references to other youtubers. No other people's content. And no drama.

Not when there's a very likely chance the person who's asking you for help will eventually bite the hand that keeps giving, hard.

This just screams :idiotcull:; dude became completely desperate and fell for the bait as a result.

Same, the deepest knowledge I have on gamergate is pretty much "gaming journalists are bad"

attracting the wrong audience is something you want to avoid at all costs
I'd rather be small time than have fans like leafys
I dont get why people are rating this dumb. This dude pretty much has every right to be pissed about this shit.

Leafy has this reputation of being untrustworthy and mean-spirited. If he is messaging you and you look past that and think "Hey, this person might be a menace to society, but if I help him, I'll get a lot of cash and youtube fame"
Well then I think you deserve to get fucked over. He took a calculated risk. And it's no surprise this whole situation turned out like this.
I learned about leafy after watching some random video from that 11 yo girl who hated buzzfeed feminists ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFxiZjayyZg ) where she had to defend herself from kids who claimed she was a leafy ripoff. Funny how she seems a hundred times smarter than him. Since then I only hear about him whenever someone talks shit about him and it's always good entertainment.
The fact that his fans feel like they have to attack this many people for "stealing" his way of doing videos, i.e. talking while having a game in the background, really shows how unoriginal he himself really is.
Holy shit Leafy actually went around telling different Youtubers to make a drama video about H3H3
Leafy's a goddamn drama whore (not like we didn't already know that)
He's just actually really butthurt and really wants everyone to hate h3h3

Have you even watched the video? this guy pretty much got personally affected by leafy and he decided to make a video about it to warn about how much of a shitty guy he is, If you want videos with creativity and imagination go to Vimeo where they strictly encourage those kind of videos. I recommend you to leave Youtube and join Vimeo

p.easy to not know about gamergate for 3 years when it's only been around for 2 years.

Yes, I did.
I just think, that if you know a person is shitty. Then don't work with them. Is this breaking news to anyone at this point? That leafy is capable of doing shitty things?
The guy confessed he just wanted some exposure. You should really choose your business partners more wisely, if you act surprised, when Leafy fucks you over.
I don't think most people on facepunch would work with Leafy. Would you? Don't you think if you look at a guy like Leafy and think of the exposure you're going to get, that you're being a little greedy yourself?
this whole drama thing is unbelievably cyclical and i'm wondering if it'll ever tone down, let alone stop.

Hey this guy has a dead dude in his trunk and hes giving me crazy eyes, but I don't know, I have a good feeling about him maybe I should travel with him get to know him? I'm sure he's a great guy deep down inside I mean, he has dreams and ambitions too you know?

You know the vast majority of people (including myself) do that right? Besides references to pop culture... my humour has a habit of using out dated memes...
Like try Caddicarus, or JonTron, PBG, ProJared, Nerdwriter1, NitroRad, Elliot Morgan, the Completionist, VLOG Brothers. Anything! There are so many YouTubers out there, big, small and everywhere in between that do great things.
These arsehats are just a loud minority.

Hey man, whatever floats your boat. Your videos are quite charming and I'm just tired of all popular youtubers being so formulaic and unoriginal with their videos.

Yeah, some of them really are a breath of fresh air.

Quite charming thanks :D
To the conversation though: I think it's important to remember that while there's a lot of shit on YouTube there's also so much amazing stuff either on the front page or just waiting to be discovered. Like yeah these guys have millions of subs, but so does game theory, which never fails to make me smile. So I think we need to get rid of Keemstar and his kind, but if and when we eventually do, what we'll have remaining will actually be the other 99% of YouTubers who are doing really good stuff.
Also I think there's a conversation to be had about YouTubers becoming out of touch and no longer genuine and normal when they become full time YouTubers, but that's another discussion and one that doesn't have a resolute solution and is more a symptom of a really awesome thing.
While the topic was interesting, I found I couldn't really listen to the guy. He sounds like he's eternally shouting, and it's just really grating.
It doesn't surprise me though that Leafy is that shitty enough not to honor someone for the effort and work they put into something.
