As some of you know, I'm a juggler, and I mostly do fire. Today, my friend convinced me to try breathing, and it turns out that it isn't as hard as I thought.
NOTE: THIS SHIT IS DANGEROUS. I HAVE BEEN JUGGLING FOR 3 YEARS, AND HAD 2 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS STANDING BY. DO NOT TRY THIS UNLESS THERE IS A PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISING YOU, AND YOU HAVE THE PROPER SAFETY SHIT.
That aside, content:

Yeah, I look like an idiot when it's just one part, but seeing as how the whole thing is maybe 0.5-1 second(s) long, it's expected.
I'll have more up tomorrow, hopefully more breathing if I can get more fuel, but for sure I'll have regular juggling.

What about fire juggling?
I thought I had some from today, but they all got deleted. Like I said, I can get more up tomorrow.
Also, if you look closely, you can see the burn on my neck from my first attempt.
Really cool stuff, I'd try this if I had the right stuff for it.
What fuel do you use for fire breathing? I can't think of many things that are fast burning and don't cause health problems.
As long as you're careful, you aren't going to have any health problems. You put MAYBE half of a cap full right behind your teeth for maybe 1\12th of a second. Unless you inhale or have blowback like I did, you'll be fine. Basically, you take a REALLY deep breath through your nose, put the fuel in your mouth, and spit it as soon as you move the bottle out of the way.
I used odorless charcoal fluid
That's supposedly the least toxic thing you can use. The main issue is the taste of it, and allergic reactions. Mine actually tasted somewhat sweet, but some stuff tastes horrible.
I've also tried using corn starch and powdered sugar, I've seen it work, but I can't get it to light and it just gets all over my wicks.
Does vodka work too?
This is awesome
No, using ANY type of alcohol is one of the stupidest things you can do.

Brb
But seriously, why?
Brb

Because it doesn't burn like that.
If it did, we could fuel our cars with it?
Vodka
Abcinte
The only difference is that those 2 have other ingredients that damage the engine, but still
You should have tried it at night :)

For one, you'll slowly get drunk. If you use Everclear, you'll get hammered after a few blows without swallowing any. Two, it isn't good for the wicks. Three, (not sure if this is true) the flashpoint of alcohol is WAY different then kerosene, and will basically go back and hit you. The kerosene basically burns much slower, and that's why the stream that is still in between me and the flame isn't on fire. With white gas\alcohol\whatever has a different flashpoint, as soon as the liquid hits the flame, the trail that went from your mouth to the wick will light up, and travel back to your face.
You should have tried it at night :)
I did, but the photographer wasn't there. I did about a 5 foot one, and some pretty nice spinoffs (soak the wicks more then usual, and make it roll when you light it so that it basically shoots the excess out everywhere and makes a huge flame).
I'll try to make a video of this soon, along with pictures.
Why are you doing it next to the bushes?
If you fuck up you can burn the whole place down.
Hey I do this too. You're doing this bad. Loose clothing is minus ten points, the bushes behind you is minus 20, from the images it seems like you're pushing your face toward your flame, more minusery.

Paraffin oil would be better for breathing than lighter fluid. It ignites better, and it doesn't have a taste. Also safer. It's harder to light when not misted. You can also use more than half a capful dude, you have to play with the limit. Do it without fire, test how much you can get out with a single lungful while still retaining a good mist.

And now we all know why you're called pyroraptor, cool stuff going on there.
This is actually a derivative of a name I made when I was like 8, Pyrorex. OH YES DINOSAURS AND FIRE WHAT COULD BE MORE AWESOME.
Also in the image: Redneck dad in the background.

Clothing isn't really loose, and the fire marshal said that would be the best place to be. And no, I'm not really pushing my face towards it, and even if I did that isn't exactly a bad thing as long as I don't fuck up.
I've just been told that the best thing I can get at the store here is the kerosene, it ignites good enough for me, tastes somewhat good, and is pretty cheap. I can barely get a mist with this, I can get about an 8 foot flame with a small mouthful from a bottle, no clue how much it actually is, I just sip from the bottle.
Kerosene will work well. The fire marshal is an idiot if he thinks putting you right next to a fucking bush is a good idea. The last thing you want is a cross wind picking up your spray and raping your entire block with fire.
I would also direct you to poi.

Not really, as the bushes were extremely wet, and everything else around me was extremely flammable tents. Plus it was just a little flower bed that was actually there. And if anything DID catch fire somehow, there were two extinguishers on either side of me so it would be out pretty fast.
I've built a few pantyhoe\tennis ball poi, and tried to make a fire pair that failed. I'm waiting for my friend to find his to sell to me, but if he doesn't soon I might just get some materials and make them myself. I also am looking into fire\contact staff.
edit: found this picture lurking around facebook.

Awesome... Alex Gold
I don't really see the talent in fire breathing/blowing/whatever, it just doesn't make sense as to why it would make someone think "wow that must be so hard". Is there something I'm not seeing that makes it so hard to blow some liquid at a fire?
I think you should stick with juggling, juggling takes talent and is much cooler.

You have to blow it a certain way unless you want a small, wimpy fireball, or the liquid just not even lighting?
Plus not too many people want to have all that fire a few inches from your face.
I get the feeling you haven't done it before.

Firebreathing is piss easy. Turning it into a show takes talent though. Sitting there spitting liquid at a stick gets boring pretty quick, even if it is on fire.
Also poi is easy to make, just use a chain and a piece of metal. Wrap cloth around the metal soak in flammable shit spin whee fire poi.
Fucking awesome dude

And then the metal heats up and burns you, and you have to replace the cloth almost daily because it burns to the point that it will just fly off
If you're gonna do shit like this, you do it with professional setups. Nobody in their right mind would actually use cloth as opposed to kevlar, especially during a show because the risk of a flaming cloth flying off is so high.

Uh, drinking alcohol is ethanol which we do use to fuel cars.
