• Pokémon Go sends players to police station, police say don’t come in
The police in Australia’s Northern Territory have a message for the surge of new Pokémon Go players: be careful, look both ways when crossing the street, and please don’t enter a police station while trying to catch a Sandshrew. Released today, Pokémon Go is a mobile game that encourages players to use their smartphones' GPS and back-facing cameras to catch virtual pokémon in real world locations. According to a post on the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services Facebook page, spotted by @isshikisenpai on Twitter, one of those locations is the Darwin Police Station in northern Australia. Obviously, a police station is not the ideal location for a bunch of kids distracted by glowing Android phones. So, here is the organization’s charming response: For those budding Pokemon Trainers out there using Pokemon Go — whilst the Darwin Police Station may feature as a Pokestop, please be advised that you don't actually have to step inside in order to gain the pokeballs. It's also a good idea to look up, away from your phone and both ways before crossing the street. That Sandshrew isn't going anywhere fast. Stay safe and catch 'em all! We’re happy to see the police politely reminding visitors to be safe, without discouraging them from taking their gaming habit outdoors. looks like the quote is a little fucked up there how long until someone breaks into a building to get some rare pokemanks
I find it appropriate that Sandshrews are indigenous to Australia.
How soon until some kid gets hit by a car playing GO?
Cannot wait for the Mew update where only one of its kind will be located in the middle of the Cambodian jungles.
what about the deoxys update where you have to go to the moon to catch one
what about the deoxys update where you have to go to the moon to catch one
I can just imagine the headline "New space race emerges to catch a Pokemon first"
How soon until some kid gets hit by a car playing GO?
This has already happened (probably fake, there are only screenshots of tweets from the police departments of third world countries). People are also driving while using the app. Legitimately don't know why Nintendo makes it so that pokemon spawn (?) near or on roadways. There's also twitter posts of people trespassing onto other people's property to catch something.

It doesn't make sense. You don't have to enter the buildings of whatever pokespot it is to find the pokemon, nor to even claim the rewards. I figured this out in my first ten minutes of playing, I don't understand why there are still people entering buildings for this thing.
its a game that was made with a japanese mindset, you cant expect the west to not fuck the entire gamey be nice sentiment up [editline]8th July 2016[/editline] by sentiment I mean "hey this thing is 50 metres away and unaccessible in real life, oh well" or "whatever I'll try asking the person who lives here"
I find it strange that Jynx keep spawning at police stations on my Pokemon Go.
I find it strange that Jynx keep spawning at police stations on my Pokemon Go.
Now that's some unfortunate placement :v:
The game is pretty buggy atm anyway. I've caught about 7 pokemon just by using the incense and sitting in my lounge room for an hour and manage to capture a pokemon that was well over 150m away from my house
What kind of pokemon can you expect to find in Syria?
People are literally fucking stupid with this game. The radius to catch a pokemon is like 2 buildings wide. For fucks sake.
Having to drive 30km every day to school suddenly brings in a good advantage. I'll see you guys on the news as the first car crash :v:
Electrode.
I just caught one near a mosque.
This is why you never see anyone driving a car in any Pokemon game.
Holy dicks you're right, we should have seen the signs but now it is too late. I just hope when death takes me it will be because somebody was looking for a sexy charizard.
People are literally fucking stupid with this game. The radius to catch a pokemon is like 2 buildings wide. For fucks sake.
Police stations can be pretty big to be fair.
Police stations can be pretty big to be fair.
There's no to be fair about it, don't go into restricted areas for a video game.
There's no to be fair about it, don't go into restricted areas for a video game.
Nonsense, you do it all the time in the other games.
Its amazing how much Pokemon Go exploded. Everyone seems to be trying it but i'm quite sad that they didn't release it in a more complete state with at least trading and more things to do, as far as i know they haven't even announced any future content yet.

When, we don't really know. I am impressed with how big this has gotten. All the usernames I wanted to use were swiped up pretty much immediately. I went to the park last night and encountered anywhere from fifteen to twenty people just playing the game. I was expecting this to bring on another boom of renewed interest in Pokemon, but maybe not quite to this extent. I hope the success of it encourages Nintendo/Game Freak/Niantic to continue supporting it with lots of updates and keep interest high.
How soon until some kid gets hit by a car playing GO?
'Dem kids reading them books... Gon get caught walking straight under a horse carriage... Dont let your kids read books and make their brains melt.' Is what was said a couple decades back when people started reading novels. There have always been distractions for kids to get run over, blaming pokemon go for this stuff is just kneejerk reacting.
Is the game any fun tho?
Is the game any fun tho?
It's Pokémon Ingress. If you keep that in mind and keep your expectations in check (it is far simpler compared to the main series) it's not too bad. It's certainly useful to have when going on walks if nothing else.
Man it's not out in Europe
I'm impressed by it. Shows how connected people get. Just in my town, there are pokeshops all over the place. Shows me interesting locations of my town I normally just ignore. Art pieces, interesting shops, land marks of all kinds. Makes me appreciate my town more. I also ran into other people using it last night, an hour after installing it.
my workplace is a pokemon gym what the fuck
