Thousands of schools are closed and travellers have been hit by major disruption after new heavy snowfalls hit large parts of the UK.
Parts of Scotland and northern England have had more snow, which has also spread to southern areas of the UK.
Up to 5,000 homes in Sussex are without electricity after heavy snow brought down power lines to several villages.
Some rail firms have reduced services, many roads are badly affected and flights have been delayed or cancelled.
The worst-hit areas have been central southern England and parts of the South West and south Wales.
Counties most affected include Surrey, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire.
In Bournemouth, it only snowed for about an hour
but we still got half the day off school
This is funny because in the past its taken less than an inch to close everything down.

d'awwwww
A huge army truck would be nice in those conditions. But that really sucks, I had an annoyance where the snow was deep and I had no power. Now to imagine that for a week now that would be a big problem.
My school was one of 4 others not to close today and then they canceled the only test I had that day because not enough people from my year turned up, I was quite cool about it because I had to walk back through -4 degrees and light snow otherwise I was quite fucking annoyed.
Measured 17cm here.
Not even a second off school, we even got lates when the bus couldnt go as fast
It's been snowing all day here in Essex, at least 15cm of snow and more expected overnight.
Hurrah...
I want more snow so I can have Friday off :saddowns:
Lucky. Canada didn't get shit.
meanwhile we canadians laugh
I though the UK would've adapted to this over the last coupla decades...

This is the most snow we've had since I was born, and prior to that the most we'd had in my life was February last year.
Well, we should really be investing more in stuff that can stop our arctic storms from fucking our shit up too much, like snow shelters to keep the citizens safe or investing in more grit/salt for the roads.

I am already missing the snow and it's not even gone yet. I should have gone out and done stuff today, but my arms and legs still hurt from sliding down hills and stuff yesterday.
don't rub it in :(

Lucky for you, here in Glasgow we're having to bloody trudge threw around 6 inches of snow because the education board thing won't let us stay off, the sad bastards :argh:
In Portsmouth the university's been closed all day and we've had extensions on all projects due in this week. I can only assume all the schools are closed aswell.
